One problem related to vehicle speed control has been reported for the 1997 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving engine will continue to run at 2000 rpms while vehicle is in neutral. Engine will runaway, and only way to slow vehicle down is to apply brakes while vehicle is in neutral. The vehicle was not safe to drive.
