One problem related to tank mounting has been reported for the 1998 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When driver stopped to get out of truck he noticed that the gas tank was about inches from the ground. The bolt that holds the gas tank up was missing. The truck was towed to a dealer where bolt was replaced under warranty.
