One problem related to transmission shudder has been reported for the 1998 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Transmission made grinding noises in low and high gears, and shifting was rough. Drove directly to transmission shop. Called service manager at local dealership about manufacturer responsibility and was told they could offer no assistance. Vehicle was only 4,000 over warranty.
