Engine problems of the 1999 GMC Sierra

Two problems related to engine have been reported for the 1999 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2004

While driving at 30 mph the consumer applied the brakes and the pedal went to the floor, resulting in extended stopping distance. The dealer replaced the rotors and pads twice, however the problem recurred. The vehicle also had tailgate and engine problems. The tires were replaced due to thread cracks.

2 Engine problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2000

The engine has two lifters, 5&8 knocking. I've been to the dealer and called the GMC customer service line three times each. They both say there is nothing they can do about it. "gm is currently investigating condition. ".
