Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problems of the 2000 GMC Sierra

Two problems related to front suspension wheel bearing have been reported for the 2000 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2005

The contact had recall 05v37900 repair work done on the anti lock brakes. Approximately one month later, while applying the brakes, he heard a loud grinding noise. The consumer was only going 8-10 mph and the consumer traveled 200-300 feet before he was able to come to a stop. He took the vehicle to the dealership, and they stated the wheel bearings needed to be replaced. Updated 01/11/06.

2 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2002

Consumer states while backing out of driveway brake pedal became hard. Consumer could not slow down and resulted in an accident. Mrthe left front wheel bearing was found to be defective. This contained the brake motion sensor which was all one unit, causing the brake failure.
