Two problems related to steering gear box sector shaft have been reported for the 2000 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
It greatly concerns me that a failure in the power steering shaft occurs especially when it's happening to other people with the same truck. I have also had the steering shaft replaced 3 times. Are they just waiting for someone to get killed?.
The power steering pump shaft broke while backing, leaving the truck disabled in driveway. Nlm.
