Front Seat Recliner problems of the 2002 GMC Sierra

Two problems related to front seat recliner have been reported for the 2002 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Seat Recliner problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2004

The driver's side seat back frame failed at the welded joints. Driver was thrown to right and back while at highway speed. This component also serves as the shoulder/seat belt attachment.

2 Front Seat Recliner problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2004

When coming to a stop driver's side seat moved forward. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced the seat bracket. Consumer stated that this was the second time that this incident occurred.
