Tank Filler Pipe And Cap problems of the 2003 GMC Sierra

Dt: the consumer owns a 2003 GMC Sierra. The consumer stated he has been having problems with the fuel gauge, fuel pump, and fuel filter. The fuel gauge does not work, he has to constantly fill up his truck to make sure he has enough gas. It started at 38000 miles just out of warranty when it stopped working. He had the part estimated by a mechanic and it is going to cost around 700 dollars just for the part. He does know of other people with the same truck and the same type of problem. The fuel gauge reads completely wrong when he is on 3 quarters of a tank it will be empty.
