One problem related to steering gear box sector shaft has been reported for the 2004 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer was unable to turn right or left. However, consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and took it to the dealer for inspection. Mechanic determined that the shaft sector needed to be replaced.
