Air Bag Not Deploy problems of the 2007 GMC Sierra

Four problems related to air bag not deploy have been reported for the 2007 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2015

The contact owned a 2007 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the vehicle crashed head on into another vehicle. The seat belt became unbuckled and the air bag did not deploy. The vehicle was towed and deemed destroyed. The contact sustained a concussion and cut on the leg, which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 103,000.

2 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

A driver turned left into me as I was going through a green lighted intersection. He thought he could make it. I was the only person in my vehicle, so I understand that the passenger air bag would not deploy. What I don't understand is that the drivers air bag did not deploy. The impact totaled my truck. The contact was on the front passenger side, so maybe that is why. Just thought I would report this in case there is a problem with gm air bags.

3 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2008

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra. While backing out of the driveway, the contact heard a loud noise inside the vehicle followed by gas leaking from the frontal air bags. The failure occurred without warning. The air bags failed to deploy. The air bag warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel and remained lit until the engine was turned off. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Currently, the vehicle has not been driven or repaired. The contact was waiting on a response from the manufacturer. The failure and current mileages were 39,700. Updated 1/6/09 the consumer stated the seatbelts locked up, which rendered them useless. Updated 01/14/09.

4 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2007

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, vehicle failed to respond to deceleration attempts and the contact crashed into the preceding vehicle. The vehicle then erroneously accelerated and crashed into a steel post then a tree. Upon impact, the air bags failed to deploy. The contact suffered facial lacerations along with neck and back injuries. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 2,000.
