One problem related to underbody shield has been reported for the 2008 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I noticed some corrosion on the frame and undercarriage when I purchased the vehicle, but purchased a warranty thinking I'd be covered if it got worse. The corrosion is not covered and the corrosion is getting much worse very quickly. My frame will rust through at some point.
