Body problems of the 2014 GMC Sierra

Five problems related to body have been reported for the 2014 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2016

The factory installed running boards are unsafe. The treads need to be larger, more aggressive and rotated 90^. As they are they are simply skid pads when wet or frozen. You simply need to try and enter or exit the vehicle and see how easily your foot sides off causing the person the fall. I have taken several slips/falls. Today I hit the back of my head on the door jam. Just rotating the tread ninety degrees would help.

2 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/16/2015

The center console with shake excessively if going 70-80 mph. It will also shake bad going down a main road I drive on daily doing 45-55 mph. The truck has had the tires rebalanced twice now with no solution found. The truck has been in the shop over 20 days all together for other vibration issues as well.

3 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2014

My son and I were driving my GMC Sierra 2014 to his friends house before we crashed. My son was driving and has his learner's permit, however, had been driving for 4 months. At a fork in the road I told my son quickly to make a right rather than left and we crashed into an improperly grated wall of dirt causing the truck to go from 40 mph to 0 with my son having his seatbelt on, but I did not. Neither airbags deployed and both of us sustained serious injuries. My son broke his nose and I am suffering from a broken nose, concussion and a bursted vertebrae. Neither airbags deployed which could've made a huge difference on our injuries.

4 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2014

While on vacation I bought a 2014 Sierra denali that was previously driven by a gm executive and bought by the dealership in w. Va. After coming home I looked underneath and saw that the frame and driveshaft were covered in rust. Have read other complaints on the internet about this same problem with this year and model truck.

5 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2013

The contact owns a 2014 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that the vehicle was designed with large holes in the grill. While driving various speeds, weeds would enter the grill and accumulate near the radiator. As a result, the vehicle overheated. The dealer stated that the vehicle was designed in that fashion. No repairs were made and the manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 10. Updated 8/22/cn.
