The contact's husband owns a 2019 GMC 1500 denali. The contact stated that the rear camera failed to operate as intended while engaged and attempting to park the vehicle. The contact added that while shifted to reverse, the camera screen remained completely black. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear window and control panel needed to be replaced due to a leak originating from the rear window. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.
