Vehicle shimmies when you apply the brakes at speeds 45 mph. During heavy braking vehicle is hard to control as the steering wheel shakes heavily. Vehicle has been in the garage 3 times for problem. 1st garage visit grooves were present in the rotor 2nd visit rotors were turned and 3rd visit rotors were turned again. Problem is still occurring. . . . This problem poses a serious hazard.
The contact owns a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500. While driving 5 mph or greater, the steering wheel vibrated and the brake pedal pulsated when depressed. The dealer stated that the rotors were warped and they turned the rotors. Approximately six months later, the failure recurred. As of July 30, 2007, the vehicle has not been repaired. The failure has occurred on three occasions. The current mileage was 44,964 and failure mileage was 15,000. The nintermediate steering shaft was replaced. Updated 09/26/07.
