1 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 10/19/2016

While driving at approximately 55 mph on urban road I had to slam on my brakes because of a driver backing out of a driveway in front of me. Brakes initially slowed vehicle then brake pedal went clear to the floor. I quickly engaged parking/emergency brake and was able to stop just in time while simultaneously running off the right side of the road. After inspection leaking brake fluid was observed on left upper frame rail just to the rear of the radiator. After being towed home future inspection revealed a longitudinal fracture on the brake line for the right front wheel. No injuries, minor damage to right side (brush scrapes).

2 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2016

When backing out of a long driveway, the brake pedal suddenly dropped to the floor and brakes did not slow, stop or engage at all. I pumped the brake several times with no response whatsoever and was only able to stop by pulling onto the grass while applying the emergency brake. I found one brake line on the front driver side had rusted through, but none of the others had a leak and the brake fluid was still full. With only one brake line damaged I lost all braking power.

3 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2014

Brakes failed in my driveway. Bkake pedal went to the floor with almost no resistance. Fortunately I didn't hit anything. I inspected brake master cylinder & found all fluid had leaked out, area under it was wet with fluid, also, the brake lines under the cylinder looked very rusted.

4 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

The contact owns a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500. While operating the vehicle and depressing the brake pedal, the braking system malfunctioned and the stopping distance was extended. The contact discovered that the brake fluid leaked from the vehicle due to rusted brake lines. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the brake lines, but the failure recurred. The contact indicated that the failure occurred on three separate occasions. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 42,000.

5 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2012

Three months prior I lost power steering because of a metal line leak. Then coming up on traffic I'm applying the brakes and the pedal went to the floor, luckily I was able to pull onto the shoulder of the road to avoid an accident. Had I not been able to pull on the shoulder my GMC would have slammed the vehicle in front of me and would have pushed that vehicle into the car in front of that one. Have not gotten the truck back from the shop yet but I could see brake fluid leaking from a metal brake line. 2005 GMC 88,000 miles this is my first GMC and my last. I think all GMC products should be recalled and fixed!!.

6 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 11/25/1918

My GMC sierra I bought new in 2006 it has 68,800 miles on it when I was sitting at a red light on a city street when the brake pedal lost pressure and went all the way to the floor. The brake lines had rusted and brake fluid was pouring out when I taped on the brake pedal. If I was moving at the time this happen something real bad could have happen. I own a 1948 Chevrolet pickup and the brake lines are still good on that 70 year old truck. Gm is using poor quality parts from low bidders on contract putting the public at risk.
