2 Air Bag Light On problem

The contact owns a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the service air bag indicator illuminated and remained lit all the time. The contact called randy curnow Chevrolet Buick GMC (816-632-2162, 509 northland dr, cameron, mo 64429) and was informed that there was no recall. The failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

3 Air Bag Light On problem

The contact owns a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500. After starting the vehicle, the air bag indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to yates Buick GMC (13845 w test dr, goodyear, az 85338) where it was diagnosed that a crimped wire leading to the air bag had caused a short, and the wire needed to be replaced. The dealer also stated that if the indicator illuminated after the repair, the air bag would also need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that they would replace the air bag at a reduced cost. The approximate failure mileage was 58,500.

The contact owns a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500. While the vehicle was stationary, the driver side air bag light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 104,000.

5 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/30/2014

Passenger air bag light went on indicating that the air bag was not functional. Took the vehicle to an independent repair shop and they could not diagnose the problem. Then took it to a GMC dealer and they determined that it was due to loss of power to the air bag module attributed to corrosion within the under-hood fuse block.
