The air conditioning system stopped working properly. Noticed a large amount of oil under the truck in the area of the air conditioning lines refrigerant lines. Suspect that the lines have ruptured and are leaking oil and refrigerant. Check to see if they were any recalls concerning this problem and noticed that numerous people have suffered the same failure of the air conditioning systems. Also noted the gm is not doing a recall on these systems even though they are admitting that there are faults in the brackets holding the refrigerant lines to the frame and have re-designed those brackets in later model units. Also noted that general motors is not rip making repairs at a reduced cost or no cost due to their failure in design.
Air conditioning condenser leaked out all freon due to faulty weld.
Air conditioning leak cabin becomes excessively hot.
My 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 has a air conditioning leak in the condenser for the 2nd time. The first time was at 48,000 miles (2 yrs old) and now again at 92,000 (4yrs old). The first time the part was on national backorder, however I was able to locate one at a different dealership. I paid $600 for the replacement. Now they want to charge me $1000. 00 for the same thing. However they are willing to cut me a break down to $699. I believe this is because there is also a leak in the cooling system. I have contacted gm and there standard warranty is 1 yr on parts so they are not willing to anything about it. Upon doing some internet searches this appears to be a wide spread problem. Please note that the phone number on the uploaded paperwork is incorrect.
Air conditioning began not producing cold air. In less than a couple hours only ambient air was being blown out of the vents. This is a known problem with gm vehicles years 2014-2015. Gm has put out a service bulletin to it's dealers on this problem yet refuses to assist it's customers. Based on online searches there are thousands of gm customers who are having the same issue.
Discharge hose failed causing air conditioning to not function. It leaked at the bend, near the compressor. This is a known issue as there was a bracket made to reduce vibration and increase life of hose. Very many failures of this hose and condenser.
Air condition compressor is leaking . Air conditioner is blowing hot air. Have seen multiple reports on the same issue. Also there is a class action suit on this issue. Contacted GMC and they will not assist with replacement of repair. Just bought vehicle in December . Had vehicle since December 31 first tried to use a/c on 5/1/2018. Problem started immediately.
Air conditioning system failure. Approximately 50,000 miles. Air conditioner blows hot air.
My truck only has 50000 miles and the air conditioner no longer blows cold air. I recharged they ac system an two months later it again only blows warm air. Did research and numerous owners of this vehicle are having the same issue. Some have had it repaired and it has been identified as a faulty weld at the compressor. A manufacturer defect that gm refuses to repair.
Purchased my truck Nov 2014. Air conditioning does not work. Condenser failed.
Air conditioner fails because of faulty condenser, this is a widespread problem since a replacement part is not available worldwide because of the demand. The dealerships are sending vehicles to 3rd parties to have the condenser repaired. This repair is not covered by any warranty.
Air conditioner started blowing hot air in November/December 2016 at or around 50k miles. In June 2017, paid a GMC dealership to diagnose the vehicle. Results show a condenser leak. . Contacted gm customer care dept. (spoke to beth). Beth confirmed the diagnosis, informed me of the backorder, then informed me that gm would not provide cost assistance for the repairs.
A/c condenser failure. Repair part is on national backorder. Estimated arrival time is 10-12 weeks. Texas summers create a very hot vehicle. Children in car seats without air conditioning is dangerous when sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. Rainfall requires either the windows get rolled up or children get pelted with rain drops on the highway. Neither are acceptable.
The air conditioning started blowing hot air. It went out in June andi hear now wont be fixed until October. It is unsafe to have young kids or my parents in the car.
45,000 miles. Air conditioner starts blowing warm air about a month ago. The following week, take the pickup to the local dealership to diagnose the following. Condenser is leaking. Informed that the part is on a national backorder and they will call me when it comes in. Three weeks and counting so far. I live in the southwest so the temperatures have been very hot lately as this is the hottest part of the year.
Air conditioner not working. Ac condenser has developed a leak. In doing research I discovered that this is a common problem for gm vehicles of the model and the like, but gm has also pulled all condensers from the shelves but will not do a recall to address the defective condenser.
Air conditioning hose between condenser and compressor failed. Needs a bracket to hold it. Gm knows about this but has not called for recall. They charge 700. 00 to fix. Virtually all 2014 chevy and gm trucks are affected. I am very disappointed with gm. Truck had only 60k miles.
Air conditioning went out in April 2017. Dealer replaced schrader valve and reloaded refrigerant. Failed again in a few days. Dealer then told me gm had a design failer on air conditioning unit and did a nationwide recall of the a/c condensor. My air conditioner was not repaired until August 4, 2017 when the dealer got the a/c condensor. I not only paid $198 for the original fix, but also $350 for the final fix which I continue to monitor. All because of a design failure attributed to gm. Why is this my problem and why do I have to pay?.
Air condition blowing hot air! leak in the condenser.
There is a leak in my air conditioning condenser. When brought in for service I was told there is a nation-wide backorder on the condensers. I then had to bring in my truck for a ignition coil failure and was told by the dealership that they have been seeing a high number of leaking condensers and cannot get parts. While not a safety issue this is an extremely costly fix on a fairly new vehicle and seems as though there is a high occurrence of failures and this needs to be brought to the attention of the public and GMC.
At 70,000 miles, and 30 months after purchasing it new, the air conditioning stopped working due to a faulty condenser. After investigating this problem I found out that there is an extremely high failure rate of GMC trucks for the same exact problem. It is a well known defect per several gm dealers who are left to deal with the problem. A bracket to secure the a/c line was never installed when vehicle was built, causing movement in the line which eventually can ruin the condenser, ac line and compressor. I asked gm dealer to fix under warranty but was told that the repair would not be done under warranty. This is unacceptable, as the defect is widespread in many of their light trucks. I was forced to repair at my own expense when this is an obvious defect.
Air conditioning system went out. Dealership found that the line set between the condenser and compressor failed. Dealership stated it needs a bracket to fix or this will keep happening. Approx. $700 to fix and not covered under vehicle warranty.
Takata recall air conditioning condenser went out and the parts are on back order the dealership even explain that thousands of these model trucks are having the same issue.
