I was warming the truck up in the morning with the auto start, parked, and had the auto defrost turned on for the rear. When I entered the truck and closed the door the rear passenger window that is facing the bed, shattered. I'm assuming the defrost is running too hot and weakened the glass or something related to the issue. I know of several other people that have this problem as well. . Read more...
When I'm cruising highway speeds the truck get a violent vibration and makes the vehicle uncomfortable to drive.
All screens in vehicle shut off while driving, almost like the vehicle turned off. Then I was giving a service notification the the stabilitrak system.
This post is about making the public aware of a potential problem. Although the manufacturer did not step up and do the right thing, I'm concerned others may have dealt with this problem or it may happen in the future. On August 29, 2018, my truck was parked on my driveway by 4pm after running errands for a couple of hours. At 6pm my husband went out to get something out of it and saw it had caught on fire. Nothing was left plugged in and there was nothing flammable in the truck. The fire dept was called and upon inspection stated the fire had started in the center console and spread to the front passenger seat. The cause of the fire look to be wiring that overheated inside the console where the wiring connected to 2 usb ports. Gm inspected the damage and found there was not a manufacturer defect and the cause of the fire was from an external source. Ironically, their 3rd party "expert" fire investigator was not aware there was a wiring harness located behind the usb ports and had to be shown their location. My insurance company is now investigating the incident. I'm asking them to look into the 12v power outlet possibly overheating as I know of someone who had theirs overheat in their 2018 chevy silverado. The day after the fire I sent photos to them and they could not believe the damage. When I told them the outcome of gm's investigation they were dumbfounded. I'm fortunate no one was hurt, but am afraid this may happen to someone else. I made a 40k + investment with gm and literally "was burned". I want other to be aware of the potential fire danger. I did expect gm to step up and take care of their loyal customer (I've bought 8 gm vehicles), but it appears the almighty dollar won out. Thankfully, in my case, no one was hurt.
A/c condenser leaking freon it's a known problem for gm.
A/c condenser is leaking - blowing hot air.
Ac condenser unit starts leaking and vehicle ac stops blowing cool air. This may only seem like a inconvenience, but here in the south summers are unbearable without ac. Occupants of vehicles could easily succumb to heat exhaustion. It could be difficult for the driver to keep sweat out of his or her eyes. This inconvenience could lead to distracted/disgruntled driving. There are actually a number of reason that this could pose a serious safety risk. Gm is well aware of this issue and has failed to properly address the situation. I didn't notice that my ac wasn't working until my vehicle had 37,000 miles on it. I'm positive that it took longer than the few days between me being at 36,000 and 37,000 miles for the refrigerant to completely exit the system and the air to not work. Gm has offered a half-hearted goodwill repair that is still just shy of $600. This has been a known issue for gm for years and is not only negligent, selling me this vehicle in November of 2015 essentially constitutes fraud.
Ref. Complaint # 11013360. Once again, at 14,842 miles, I was coasting after turning into a long driveway, I pushed the accelerator to continue. . The engine revved and the truck acted as if it was in neutral. This time, in the security of my driveway, I did not touch the gear shift as I had in times before. This time I just tried pushing the accelerator. After four attempts where the engine just revved. The gear finally "caught after the fourth attempt to accelerate". Once again, I took it into my dealership and they could not find anything wrong, nor could they duplicate this issue. Please, I need something done! I am driving cross country from south carolina to wyoming in one month. I am very apprehensive about driving this truck as I feel it is unsafe and will cause me to crash. I have not heard a response from you since first reporting this problem 8/7/2017.
I was riding on the freeway and someone flagged me down and said you car is on fire. The fire was between the cab and the bed of the truck on 3/22/2017. On 4/11/2017 is began to smell of smoke whenever I crank. The smell is coming through the vents. Also the vehicle will not pass inspection because of the emissions for the past 4 months. I am paying a note on this vehicle monthly and am not able to use it. I can't get it inspected and the registration is out therefore I cannot drive it.
The GMC sierra has a terrible vibration from 70 - 80 mph. It has been in the shop 7 times over the last year, 9 new tires, and the vibration still continues. I have attempted to resolve the issue with gm but there has been no resolution. The truck feels unstable and like something is going to break on the highway which is a safety concern. This vehicle has issues and it needs addressed.
On Tuesday, December 20th 2016 at approximately 7:15pm while driving south on new river road in Lincoln ri I tried to make a left turn onto a side street. When I turned the steering wheel left it was snatched out of my hands and the steering wheel automatically turned back to center it self. I could not manuver the vehicle as it rolled up onto the sidewalk where I had to use the emergency brake to force the vehicle from rolling into a tree. The vehicle dic displayed "park assist" and afterwards the vehicle went completely dead. . . No lights or sounds when I tried turning the key to restart it. Lifted up the hood and all the electronics came back on and vehicle started. Dic prompt displayed "open and then close the driver side window" had vehicle taken to dealer for service.
I purchased my first new vehicle in oct of 2015. I've owned 4 vehicles since I've had my license, 2 dodges and 2 bmws. I chose a truck I've dreamed of having since I was 16. I'm currently 28. I chose the sierra denali. Not only was this my first new vehicle but this was my first truck and my first gm product of my life. Now I'm teetering on it being my last. Through the 14 months I've owned the vehicle (since 4 miles) I've had numerous issues. My front differential has been rebuilt not once but twice. My truck has 45k on it. It has never towed hauled or other wise performed a task requiring it's power other than normal driving. It has been babied. Cleaned washed oil changed tires rotated and 93 octane fill ups. Amongst other issues were the infotainment center freezing. Cvs axle shafts performing erratic along with bucking slamming and noises through the power train. A random leak in the lower oil pan that the dealer said was a manufacturer defect they were aware of. A airbag software safety recall and a shifting driver seat that tends to move a bit during cornering. Now to top all of those issues off in those 14 months I now have a leak the extends out from the edge about 5 inches from the rear windshield all the way from the driver side to passenger side. I'm not in bumper to bumper warranty. I was told 100 dollars and it will be fixed. It shouldn't have to be fixed. None of it should have. I have had less issues in all 4 of my last vehicles put together than this 1 vehicle I have owned for 14 months and I bought it new. This has been a big let down. A disappointment 12 years in the making apparently. One that has more than ruined my day. I honestly don't want this truck. It's scarred for life. That's obvious and not reversable. But now I'm under water on a loan for a truck that's not worth its weight in scrap metal. That's neither right nor fair.
Truck has vibration in the steering wheel and gas pedal between the speeds 30-75 mph. When driving the truck at any of the listed speeds and have the speed steady at said speed, vibration can be felt in the steering wheel and gas pedal in the 2wd and 4wd-auto modes. Also when the the engine shifts from v8 to v4 modes. Truck has been to three (3) dealers so far and did not see much improvement in the vibration.
When my truck is at or above 70mph there is a constant shaking that occurs.
Brought in my 2015 GMC 1500 sierra truck in for vibrations issues at high speed of 70-75 mph. After 4 attempts GMC corp refuses to admit that there is a safety issues in driving this vehicle at a normal rate. They continue to remove and replace the tires. I have never owned a vehicle before that such vibration is felt in the cabin of the truck, passenger seat, foot petal, etc. That is so uncomfortable, that my wife refuse to drive in the truck due to its safety. GMC will not acknowledge any of these complaints but will say everything is of specs. Like others this is the worse vehicle I have ever purchased. Found more complaints like this has been filed, but same result, GMC will do nothing.
2015 GMC Sierra 1500 has a vibration problem. Been in shop 2 times so far wheels and tires balanced. Still the vehicles vibrates at speeds 77 and up at 85 you cant stand to be in vehicle have drove on new pavement, interstate, changed lanes still no change. I have a video on this as well as a lot of videos on u tube to show vibration at highway spends this is a problem on 2014 and 2015 and the dealership and gm states this is normal but will not give you that in writing they state they all do it.
