1 Integrated Trailer Brake Control problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the warning message "service trailer brake system" was displayed along with an audible warning chime although no trailer was being towed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure and no service repairs were performed; however, the failure recurred intermittently. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

2 Integrated Trailer Brake Control problem

Failure Date: 08/21/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the weight of the trailer cord made the cord hang. As a result, the trailer brake became nonfunctional. The trailer could not haul heavy materials and was a hazard to the contact's safety. Also, "trailer brake fail" appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was driven to joe fuoco motor company (741 n 1st st, grand junction, CO 81501, (970) 701-4773), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000. The VIN was unknown.
