general problems of the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 - part 2

At first my brakes began locking up on the vehicle, almost as if they were pumped full and not able to press down any longer, shortly after that the stabilitrack light came on and white smoke began to come out of the exhaust as well as a slight shake in the engine, I immediately turned the vehicle off and parked it, mind you I bought the vehicle 1 day ago and it is already broke down, the issue is with GMC and these sensors they are using they are faulty engine reduces speed and it is not safe to say the least. Not only that but had the exact same problems with my GMC acadia which I finally got the light to stop going off after replacing transmission, brake pedal position censor, as well as gas pedal position censor, also had the throttle body replaced, do you all make products that are worth anything, nothing was ever done about the acadia, the GMC sierra is a 2015 with 70,000 miles on it this car should not be acting like this please contact me at 7195802792 thank you so much for your time, also there are 14 recalls on this year truck yet mine shows that there are 0 recalls to be fixed I am wondering about this as well.

Service trailer brake brake system error keeps flashing.

Trailer brake system warning continues to pop up on my dash along with the chimes. Not sure if this will affect my braking or not, but I pull a 32' camper and am continually concerned about this warning. It happens randomly not just when towing a camper. It has been in to a GMC dealer and they say nothing can be done about it due to no recalls.

The brake pedal gets hard to push down when slowing down and especially when backing up slowly. After looking into some things I'm pretty sure the problem is with the vacuum pump.

Whenever I connect a trailer to my vehicle I will lose all brake pressure when in reverse. It only happens when in reverse and connected to a trailer. I will have to pump my brakes to the floor and there's no braking power. This does not happen when I do not have a trailer connected.

Curtain air bags deployed after loosing traction a bit in the highway also causing seat belts to get locked. Acceleration pedal will get stuck at times. Needed to push brake pedal half ways or more for brakes to kick in. Gm brake recall seems to have fixed that. A/c condenser and compressor continue to fail.

Trailer brake service alarm. Replaced module under stair tire and dash board. Still in alarm, internet says it’s a common problem with wiring harness failure. Many others have some problem.

I was towing a camper down rt 422 in butler, PA in my GMC truck when it suddenly caught fire. My wife was following me and alerted me to pull over as quickly as possible. I had no brakes and the gear shifter went straight up without shifting. The doors would also not open while the truck was filling with smoke. I got out using the manual unlock knob and am lucky to be alive. We had about one minute to try to extinguish the flames before it fully engulfed both my truck and camper. I filed a complaint with GMC. By what I am reading online there are many instances of fires and GMC does not seem to provide assistance. This is very unnerving and scary to say the least. I am sad and angry for this situation. This happened through no fault of my own and I lost absolutely everything. I was in the middle of moving to start a new job and lost many work items in my truck as well. I had to delay my start date for work. Now I am responsible for deductables, insurance increases and other items not covered by my insurance. Now I have to buy a new vehicle and camper but what will GMC do to help me? probably nothing.

Waiting in line a costco gas station had my foot on the brake pedal all of a sudden the brake pedal got hard and the truck will not stop almost hit the vehicle in front of me.

The component that malfunctioned is the vehicle braking system at slow speeds. I first experienced the problem at a restaurant drive thru line. After several stops as the line advanced, the braking system failed (extremely hard pedal) and car kept advancing and if someone would have been directly in front of me ( at a normal distance for a drive thru ) I would have made contact with them at a slow speed. I checked with my dealer the next day and they said that there were no reported problems for this issue on my vehicle. No warning lamps or messages present but it seems to me to be similar to the recall ( n192268490 ) as it only happens at slow speed with repeated application of the brake. There were no symptoms of the problem prior to this incident and it took me completely by surprise. I took the vehicle in to a service facility and they test drove it and said that they did not recreate the failure but I believe that they didn't try repeated braking at slow speed as I requested. I feel that there is a problem and that it only shows up during the aforementioned driving conditions. I have checked your website and the manufacturers and my truck VIN doesn't show up for their computer reprogramming recall but think that maybe it should.

My brake assist service light came on in my truck and the brakes are acting weird at low speeds. I know there is already a recall for this in 2015 GMC sierra's but apparently mine isn't included. This is apparently a problem for all 2015 GMC's so how do I get mine included. I already contacted my local gm dealer and they won't do anything about it unless I pay for it. It's obviously a known problem and a bigger problem than they are admitting. Help me get all 2015 GMC on the recall list before someone else gets hurt or killed.

At low speeds after pumping brakes I have no brake pressure and cannot stop. Pedal bottoms out. Once I start moving again brakes come back again.

Brakes becomes hard when backing up at very low speed and sometimes it feel like the anti lock brake is activated. Usually happen when backing up.

Vacuum issue with brakes. Backing up vehicle with utility trailer when brake pedal is pressed their is hesitation and lack of ease when pressing pedal. Then if press pedal after that there is no movement and pedal is like pushing rock with foot, no softness, no movement all. Have noticed this occasionally for the past 8 or 10 months before finding this place here to note my issue.

At low speeds the brake pedal is non-responsive and pulses while making a noise. It has happen twice, once in a drive thru and another time backing out of a parking spot. Appears to be a vacuum assist issue. Once the truck was place in neutral and the rpm's were increased the issue went away.

Supposedly the brakes have been fixed for the recall, however, if I am driving as low speeds like in a parking lot, the abs will kick in causing me to not come to a stop when needed. I have almost hit several vehicles due to this issue. I have issues with the radio working, specifically being able to adjust the sound level. I have issues with the mirrors being able to move like they should. Both of the electrical issues are permanent, it does not matter if I am parked or driving, they do not work at all. This is by far the worst vehicle I have ever purchased. The brakes have been occurring for years and there was no change when it was brought in for the recall. The most recent issue is now my evap system needs to be fixed. I can only imagine what that will cost to fix on a vehicle that only has 100,000 miles on it. Can't wait to get that bill!.

My truck still has the hard braking issue even though the recall has been performed. I received a second letter and took it back into the dealer and they said the reprogram had already been performed and that was all they could do. I had it at the mechanic for service and was told I was going to need a new brake vacuum. He experienced the same hard breaking issue when he was test driving it. I travel and drive my truck a lot and makes me very nervous this is going to cause an accident.

In slow traffic today I almost slammed into the back of a car! the brake pedal went to the floor,and had a shutter feelin terrible!! this is scary and needs recalled now!! I heard it was but came up no with my VIN#?? but my year is supposed to be recalled. . . This needs fixed im not happy after today. .

During real slow speed my brakes will get extremely hard to press. During this time the truck will become hard to stop. This usually happens when parking or in a drive- thru.

Truck continues to lose brakes at low speeds or when backing/pulling trailer. Truck was serviced for brake recall and no change to braking. Consistently looses braking when parallel parking or backing into parking spots along with stop and go traffic brakes go out and you must stand on the pedal to stop the truck. This braking issue happens almost daily.

2015 GMC Sierra 1500. Had the brake pump vacuum recall performed not too long ago. This issue actually seems worse now. I was backing out of a parking spot - low speed was the issue previously- and applied the brake. Nothing happened, no brakes (pedal was depressed) truck continued to back out and I had to jam on the brake again, only then did the truck brake system shudder and engage enough for me to stop. This happens at low low speeds - crawling traffic, parking lots etc. . . . I got to tap the brake pedal to slow a bit and nothing occurs - or the pedal pushes back at me giving me no brakes. I have to completely disengage the pedal and then forcefully engage the pedal again to get any kind of braking. I have only noticed this at very slow speeds. This is terribly scary when we are crawling down a steep mountain highway with bumper to bumper traffic and I get no brake response. Like I said, the truck went in for a recall that was supposed to have fixed this issue.

The vehicle is stalling when braking and getting ready to turn. My truck is showing stabilitrak service intermittently and I've almost been in a crash 3 times because of this. The vehicle only restarts after placing in park. This is not safe when in traffic. There seems to be no recalls and no known cause. Someone is going to die if gm doesn't fix this. I've been on forums and it's a common problem. It should be fixed by gm if it is so common. This happens when approaching cross traffic at an intersection and I lose all control of steering braking and power to the truck.

Having difficulty breaking during on and off parking mode in a stationary position. When I reverse or move forward after changing to either revers or drive gear my truck seems to take longer to break, and almost feel that I don't have control of the vehicle. Its kinda scary to be honest not having control of the breaks. The breaks do better when I'm driving like in the expressway with out any problems. However, when I park in the house or in a general parking lot my truck antilock system doesn't seem to work very well. I have already taken my truck for a recall service at a GMC dealer known as luke fruia in brownsville texas 78521 but don't see any difference. Feels like they just didn't fix the problem. I already took the truck to a certified mechanic and said that the break fine so I think its the antilock system not working. Im scared driving the truck and fear I might get into a collision or crash due to my antilock breaks not working appropriately. To be honest, I feel very unsafe driving this vehicle so I have been using my Toyota car. Please, need your help on this matter. Thank you.

Braking issue. While traveling in a drive thru, vehicle brake pedal went to the floor, pulsated some, and required extreme effort to stop. This occurred during subsequent braking incidents while moving and stopping in the drive-thru. After leaving, brake pedal felt ok. Googled symptoms which matched my circumstances and listed a recall. However, there is no recall listed on NHTSA. Seems a little troubling as this appears to affect 3. 4 million gm vehicles.

While parking in reverse at low speeds, the brakes became really stiff and was barely able to stop.

During parking (low speeds) my brake pedal began making noise. When stopping in the parking spot, the brake pedal was very stiff and could only press it down 1/2"-1", barely able to stop.

The brakes at slow rate of speed become very hard to operate and push. Made appointment with GMC dealer for service (sched for 1/31).

While pulling into a parking lot ant a friend apartment I was turning into a parking spot when the truck completely died causing no power steering or braked nearly causing me to hit his neighbors car.

When exiting from one highway to another in heavy traffic were breaking was required, my trucks power steering and power brakes had completely gone out. I was on a straight track for a highway patrol who was standing outside his vehicle along with another motorist. After fighting to steer the truck while trying to brake to avoid hitting other motorists I realized that the truck had also died. Shook up and scared I started the truck and began to drive away with the officer yelling what the hell are you doing. The truck has done this several times. Three of which almost resulted in an accident. It has been in the dealership were they told me it was a high resistance in the negative battery cable which was replaced and resulted in no change.

The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.

The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
