The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle started losing automotive power and stalled. The contact frantically maneuvered the vehicle across three lanes of highway traffic to get to the right shoulder and park the vehicle. During the failure, the check engine warning light and several other unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. 2 Engine Cooling System problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2025

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph and attempting to make a right turn while depressing the accelerator pedal, the contact heard a popping sound coming from the front driver’s side and three of the wheels attempted to switch to 4wd; however, the driver’s side wheel failed to respond as intended. The contact was able to pull over to the right side of the road. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the result was not provided. 3 Engine Cooling System problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2025

The contact owned a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v274000 (engine and engine cooling). The contact stated that while driving at 16 mph, the engine suddenly stalled. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to restart the engine, placed the gear lever on neutral(n), and revved up the engine. The contact then moved the gear lever to drive(d); when the vehicle accelerated independently, the contact swerved to avoid hitting a telephone pole, then swerved to avoid hitting a mailbox, and ended up hitting a tree, where the vehicle came to a stop. The driver-side and passenger-side air bags. A police report was filed. The contact sustained minor injuries to his foot. No medical attention was provided. No passengers in the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. The vehicle was not inspected. The insurance company was notified. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and pending an investigation.
