Tail Light Problems of GMC Sierra 1500

Tl the contact owns a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the rear tail lights had condensation and water in the lenses. Additionally, the bulbs blew out. The vehicle was taken to ed schmidt auto group (26875 north dixie highway, perrysburg, OH 43551) where it was determined that the vehicle was in a crash. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and opened case number: 8-3967686775. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall or warranty. The failure mileage was 95,000.

2006 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab. Only a year old and with less than 15,000 miles, the right tail light assembly fell off. There had been no accident, impact or abuse. The cause was the breaking of the two plastic threads in the taillight assembly. These flimsy, weak, threaded parts are all that hold the taillight on and are clearly inadequate for the load. This should not be a wear and tear item; it is a design defect. There should be some metal holding the screws, not thin plastic.
