GMC Sierra 1500 owners have reported 14 problems related to warning (under the lane departure category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of GMC Sierra 1500 based on all problems reported for the Sierra 1500.
A few weeks ago my adaptive cruise stopped working, as well as the automatic high beam system (not sure the technical name). As there was a warning light displayed, I brought it into the dealership to have them check it out. The technician jumped in really quick, made some changes within the control panel, and the light came off. As I drove out and tried to use the adaptive cruise control, it didn't work and I almost went into the back of a truck. That all being said, I brought it back into the dealer last week for them to diagnose the problem as a failed front windshield camera. I find it hard to believe that this camera can fail at 50k miles, and the repair with parts and labor costing approximately $1000. This is an advanced system designed to improve the driver experience and heavily marketed. Considering this is tied to safety in some capacity, shouldn't gm cover this repair? I quickly googled the issue and found others have had the same failure. The camera system combined with the control panel covers so many applications, I would be concerned about other issues with the truck. Not to mention the massive recall of my l87 engine and water pump failure that I have also dealt with. I appreciate you taking the time to read my rant. Not sure if this will do anything, but it would be nice to have some sort of relief from the oem due to the issues I have already experienced owning this truck.

Following engine replacement per NHTSA for 6. 2l GMC engine. I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 denali (refresh body style). The vehicle has experienced repeated failures of driver-assist features and safety system warnings, including: dash messages: “lane keeping assist system unavailable” and “service safety restraint system. ” when the fault occurs, driver-assist features including adaptive cruise control become inoperative. The issue has recurred multiple times, including after repairs. After one event, the truck sat parked approximately 10 days and the battery discharged to failure and required replacement. A dealership visit documented dtc u3000 (“internal electronic failure”) in the front view camera module. The dealer replaced/programmed/calibrated the front camera on 02/09/2026 at approximately 58,405 miles (invoice/ro #285795). The symptoms have recurred despite prior resets and this repair. I am concerned about loss of driver-assist functions while driving and the presence of a safety restraint system warning. Please investigate whether there is a defect related to the front camera/driver-assist systems and/or electrical module behavior that can cause repeat faults and battery drain on this model.
While driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic, my vehicle suddenly lost all engine power, the accelerator became unresponsive and the dash indicated "press start". There were no warning lights, no messages, and no prior symptoms before the failure occurred. I was in an active traffic lane when this happened, which immediately placed me and others at risk of being rear-ended. After several seconds, and pressing the start button, the vehicle regained power. But the odometer was indicating I was going 30+ mph when I was going less than 10 mph, so I pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle is also was having issues with the lane keeping assistance was unavailable. This is is a new vehicle purchase directly from the dealer in August 2025, with approximately 4,500 miles at the time of the incident that occurred on, 11/18. The problem has not been reproduced by the dealership, and no diagnostic trouble codes were found. The vehicle has been at the dealer for inspection since 11/20, but I was informed that the issue would need to happen again before they could diagnose it. This type of sudden power loss while driving is a serious safety concern, especially because it occurred without warning and could happen again unpredictably. At this time, the cause it unknown, but the component or system responsible for the power loss should be inspected. The failure appears to be intermittent and without warning.

On August 15th, 2025, I brought my new 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 denali to bill cramer gm dealership, 2251 w 23rd st, panama city, FL 32405, due to a complete loss of audio in the cabin. This affected the turn signals, radio, and critical safety alerts, including collision warnings and seatbelt reminders. Given the vehicle's high cost and its status as a new premium model, this malfunction was both disappointing and alarming, particularly due to its implications for safety. This occurs about every third time I drive the vehicle. The dealership retained my vehicle for over a week to diagnose and address the issue. I received an email stating that the service was complete and the truck was ready for pickup. However, upon arrival, a service technician informed me that they could not identify the cause of the audio failure and, consequently, no repairs were made. I was told the dealership would continue consulting with general motors' corporate engineers to determine the cause and solution.
Intermittent failure of audio and safety alerts (forward collision alert, lane departure warning) dealership’s response: “no fix” despite warranty. Safety impact: increased collision risk.
Additional information re odi 116346689: tried to report to gm using 800-462-8782 provided by you. Agent would not accept any information that I tried to provide, including year/make /model and would not confirm or deny that the issue was known by them. Agent said that the dealer would report their inability to fix the issue directly to gm, and that I could not. I have no way of knowing if the dealer made this report to gm. Calling this number was an infuriating, complete waste of time.

While driving on a two lane highway at approximately 60 mph the powersteering on my truck failed with warning lights on the dash. I limped it to a town where I could get it scanned and they could not figure out the issue. The issue was intermittent for a few days until it was non-stop. It took over a month to get the reconfigured part from gm to complete the repair, gm had to reconfigure the part to fix the issue I was having. A faulty powersteering control module was the probelm and it required replacement of the entire steering rack and alignment. Gm is aware of this issue clearly due to their choice to rework the affected part, but not issuing a recall in light of the issue to take full repsonsibility/reimburse customers that have suffered monetary damage due to their failure to propperly engeineer parts.
I am writing to complain about that general motors has issued a retrofit program for 2022 model vehicles that did not come with safety features due to the microchip shortage. I purchased my vehicle new in 2021 and the vehicle did not have the option of having safety features at the time of purchase. I find not having the safety features in a large vehicle to be a safety concern for those that use the vehicle or around the vehicle. General motors should add the 2021 model vehicles that also did not have the ability to have those features on them added as a part of their retrofit program.

Vehicle experiences a failure to the lane departure warning and intellibeam headlamps functions, primarily at night. Trouble first began on 3/12/2023 and has been to two gm dealerships for 11 repairs and the problem is still unresolved. Gm executive escalations have been opened and the problem is still unresolved. Their response is that 18 vehicles experienced this problem and the resolution was to clean the front windshield and update the camera software. This truck has had the camera replaced and software updated three times by two different dealerships. Gm is now stating they are unwilling to resolve the problem any further and they would no longer send any field engineers to investigate the problem. I have numerous photos, videos and repair logs from with the problem and resolutions performed. Nature of problem: at night, the indicator button for selecting the lane departure warning will go out. If the button is depressed, a message in the dic indicates lane departure warning unavailable and there is no way to activate the ldw. It also causes the intellibeam headlamps to not work. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
The infotainment system loses all audio through the speakers intermittently. When this happens I also lose the safety warning chimes as well. Shutting off the vehicle for an extended period of time resets something and it resumes normal function. I have contacted gm customer service and spoke to 3 different representatives and requested an escalation to a senior advisor, which I was told could take up to 4 days to hear back. The vehicle has 800 miles and is 1 month old, this has occurred 4 times. It has not been looked at by the manufacturer as I am waiting for return communication. Other than no sound, everything else on the touch screen seemed to be working normal, but im no technician to determine that. I feel this is a safety concern as I travel with my 13 month old daily.
