I bought my 2026 GMC in April. Several times the audio doesn't work work. When this happens audio related safety technology is affected too including turn signal sounds and back camera audio also. A person walking behind the truck can be seen on the screen but no warning beeps are heard. When backing up the warning for getting too close to an object also doesn't work. I called the dealer in early may and was told that this was a known issue and that it needed a software update. Took the truck to the dealer on may 8th and the software update was performed. When the update had been completed when I started the truck after the update there was no audio. I told the service advisor it was currently happening and she took it back to the technician. They disconnected the battery cables to reset the system and told me to do that in the future until the issue is resolved. I opened case #100978480 with gm on June 1st because I wanted to be sure that gm was also informed of the issue. I was hoping they would be proactive and report back to me what they were doing to resolve this issue. Instead I was told that I need to call the dealer and the dealer would call gm because an update might be available but dealers wouldn't be informed and wouldn't check unless I called.
When I put the vehicle in park, the dash warning says it is not in park or shift to park. The components continue to work. I have taken it to the dealership and according to the service manger, this is a very common occurrence in these trucks. This seems to me that it would be a very serious safety issue if one assumes their vehicle is in park and it is actually not. The shift to park warning is a safety warning to alert the driver it is not in park so the vehicle doesn’t roll off and hit someone (especially a child playing in the driveway). Assuming that alert is just a malfunction could get someone killed. I did notice that this was considered a safety recall for some models of GMC vehicles but not others. I’m not sure why there hasn’t been a recall on these trucks when the service manager specifically said they are having this issue on a lot of trucks.

Recently, I just purchased my vehicle from wally edgar chervolet with no open recalls on the vehicle. As of September 29th, 2025 for my very first oil change on the vehicle I was made aware for 4 open recalls which was told to me at the time of purchase. The dealership closed the all recalls without actually checking my make the vehicle was safe to drive. The recall numbers are: n252510321, n222362040, n212356230, n222357620.

Every time I pull the truck into my garage or a parking stall at low speeds while using the front park sensor it will shut off with the automatic start stop while still in motion. Then you have to let off the brake pedal for it to start and sometimes the vehicle will search forward.
I purchased my 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 on July 4, 2024. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle began experiencing recurring electrical and electronic malfunctions affecting multiple safety and driver-assistance systems. These issues include power mirrors not consistently folding when the vehicle is locked, the digital speed (mph) intermittently not displaying on the dashboard, driver seat memory not always setting upon entry, and blind spot warning indicators activating while driving when no vehicles or objects are present. More critically, the rear parking assist sensors do not function consistently and often fail to alert before contact with an object. I have backed into objects on multiple occasions before the sensors activated or without any warning, creating a safety risk while reversing. I first brought the vehicle to the dealership on January 13, 2025 for these issues, but they were not resolved. I purchased two GMC-branded trailer cameras in December 2024 that are advertised as compatible with this vehicle. On September 1, 2025, I returned to the dealership when the “invisible trailer” feature became inoperable. The trailer camera system frequently shows a black screen, cuts out intermittently, or fails to display an image. I returned again on September 11, 2025 due to continued failure of the invisible trailer feature and rear parking assist. The dealership kept my vehicle until December 2, 2025 (approximately one month), but the issues remain unresolved. I am scheduled to return again in January. These failures reduce rear visibility and compromise multiple safety systems. Despite repeated dealership repair attempts and extended service time, the problems persist, suggesting a defect involving the vehicle’s electrical system, sensors, software, or camera modules. I have photo and video documentation of these failures.

On or around July 12th 2025 at low speed of 2-4 mph my rear end locked up sending everyone in the vehicle hard stop forward. The vehicle wouldn't disengage leaving me no choice but to have it towed for the second time 1st time happened exactly the same about month and a half prior. GMC service department department claims they couldn't find anything wrong after it sat for two days in there lot after having it towed they were closed weekends and looked at it that Monday morning finding no signs of anything wrong. After picking up my vehicle I strongly feel like if at higher speeds or even environment this issue will endanger myself passengers and bystanders. I need help with resolving this safety issues ASAP please. GMC hasn't been much help service department nor gm support options.

My vehicle is equipped with multiple safety systems offered by general motors. Since purchasing my vehicle new, I have had a persistent and recurring issue related to the vehicle safety system, which is resulted in numerous collision detection and advanced cruise control service is not functioning as designed, creating safety issues for both myself and potentially other motorist on the road. Additionally, the parking sensors are not working as expected, presumably due to the same issue, which has resulted in numerous safety concerns, including the detection of vehicles or objects, which were not present, resulting in the systematic breaking function engaging posing a risk to myself and surrounding motorists. I initially reported the issue to gm on 2/20/2025, when the vehicle had 467 miles on the odometer. Since the issue initially began, I have returned to the gm service department at my local dealer a total of seven (7) times. The local service department has been in contact with gm corporate office related to the issue, however, they have been unable to rectify the issue and continue to send the vehicle back out on the road claiming the issue has been resolved only for it to recur shortly thereafter. I believe that gm providing the safety features in an inoperable state poses great risk to the general public, and the NHTSA should investigate this issue alongside the other active systemic issues gm is currently under investigation of. At this time, it is unknown what is the cause of the issue, multiple parts have been replaced, and the true cause of the issue has been undiagnosed.
Just purchased a new 2025 GMC sierra. The backup camera system is useless at night if not in a well lit parking lot. This make the system unsafe as you cannot detect people or objects in the field of view. I've had many GMC vehicles over the years and this is the first one with this concern.
1. Lane keeping assistantance: the green vehicle indicator on the dashboard will disappear and stay off while driving. When it is off, it is unsafe. 2. Parking collision warning: the front and back sensors will disappear and become nonfunctional while driving and parking. Sometimes they activate for no reason as well. 3. Both exterior mirrors: after starting the engine to drive off , both exterior mirrors will lower automatically from my setting. After the truck is started and driven off, they must be rest again.

I own a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500. The rearview camera is inoperable at night (image is too dark). Brought vehicle into to purchasing dealer with complaint. After service, I was told that there was nothing they could do to correct the issue. I then contacted GMC customer service. They advised to bring the vehicle to a different dealer and upon completion to contact customer service again. I did as advised and took the vehicle to a second dealership with the same result. As you are aware, this is a violation of federal law and a serious safety issue for small children, pets or any object behind the vehicle in the dark. Based on what I have been able to discover there are many people with this same complaint. Gm is not addressing this issue and is as unwilling to assist others as they have been to assist me.
At around 28,000 miles the truck started having intermittent electrical issues. The head unit will show a blue screen. Safty systems will automatically disable. Camera system failures. Even though the truck is a 2019 model it only has around 31,000 miles on it and is now out of warranty and I can’t afford to have the dealership chase electric issues. GMC should be ashamed of putting out such an unreliable vehicle.
10/9/all interior vehicle sounds (turn signals, hazard lights, parking warnings, collision warnings, etc. ) along with the audio sound system, are audible in my vehicle via the vehicles’s audio system speakers. For reasons unknown and without warning, all interior vehicle sounds and the audio sound system cease to make audible sound; however, the infotainment display screen and the instrument cluster screen continue displaying normally and appear to function properly (system still accepts touch screen inputs and visibly displays volume knob input adjustments). So, in summary, a disconnect occurs between the infotainment system / vehicle audible warnings and the vehicle’s speakers, through which the sounds emitted. We purchased our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 at4 as a brand-new purchase on 9/30/24 and it is completely stock, with no post-purchase or aftermarket alterations having been made to the vehicle. This issue has occurred on two separate occasions since the purchase date, with the occurrences happening on 10/8/24, and once on 10/9/24. When this sound-disconnect issue occurs, it will last indefinitely until we remedy the issue. The only remedy for this issue that has worked thus far requires that we completely shut the vehicle down, wait a few minutes, and then restart the vehicle. In researching this issue, I have found multiple comments over various forums by various users who have reported dealing with this same issue.
Lifters failed in November 2023 and had repaired major engine damage including 4 cylinders, cam shaft, lifters, gaskets etc. After major repair work done. Truck is now doing same exact thing in January 2024. The dealership is stating they will not look at the vehicle unless I buy a new battery. I asked them to try a used battery to see if that makes a difference. And then if it is the battery I will replace. I was hung up on after the technician doug pedersen stated ill have a supervisor call you back.
I put my truck in break. Service mode to replace the brake pads. I began changing the pads and could not get the piston to retract all the way, I hooked uon a c clamp to retract the piston. In the event I moved the rotor to another spot and the brake service mode turned off and the piston extended. My fingers nearly got caught in the caliper. When put in brake service mode, it should not automatically extend when turning the rotor. Someone will get hurt bad at some point in a swrvice garage or at home when wirking on brakes.
I bought a new GMC, I received 3 vouchers for computer chips to be installed at a later time years ago. They have not provided them. They are selling new fully equipped vehicles with computers chips just fine. Can you handle and have GMC install their backlog of computer chips? there are many safety features that do not work, like parking assit and basically all warnings like when backing up etc. They made me sign a form stating they are not responsible for safety issues stemming from this (our inability to sue) this should be illegal. Thanks.
Trailer brake system message keeps showing up on my dash and it’s not safely to drive.

For over a year now multiple times while I'm driving. My vehicle's power steering will jerk/shake very abruptly, dash lights, radio, a/c & heater flicker on & off, service stabilitrak, trailer brakes etc, will pop up. Then once stopped and shut off the engine the battery will act like it is dead and I will have no power to the vehicle at all. I have read the recall report & over 1 million SUV/pickup gm vehicles (chevy/Cadillac) manufactured through October 2015 are affected with the same issues. My 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 manufacture date on the vehicle is October 2015. I was told my VIN # was not included with the recall therefore they can't do anything to help. Even though my vehicle is experiencing exactly the same problems as the vehicles that were recalled and fixed with no out of pocket expense I am basically screwed. I also have a video of my steering wheel jerking back & forth, dash lights flickering & the engine stalling. (all in the same video).

On or about 10-14-2020 I had got a call from my niece that she was at a parking lot and the truck didn't want to run the same. She was passing a intersection when she heard a very loud pop noise and a very scary noise coming from the engine. The noise did shack her some but when she notices the truck had lost its power she was more scare that she was going to get hit by a other car came out to be the lifters and camshaft . Where they been having class actsions law suits with gm motors for the same problem with other GMC year from 2009-2015 5. 3 vortex engins and GMC knew about it before the sold the very first truck its a $10,000. 00 dallors repair and with the bank finance I will be paying more then 25,000. 00 after cost and this truck blue book its at 15,000. 00 last time I check it so its not worth putting so much more money for that year of truck. I had tryed to work things out with the dealership as well with gm motors and had no luck or even a call back from both sides. I ask that if you can investigate this matter some more I will gladly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.
