Warnings Problems of GMC Sierra 1500

On August 15th, 2025, I brought my new 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 denali to bill cramer gm dealership, 2251 w 23rd st, panama city, FL 32405, due to a complete loss of audio in the cabin. This affected the turn signals, radio, and critical safety alerts, including collision warnings and seatbelt reminders. Given the vehicle's high cost and its status as a new premium model, this malfunction was both disappointing and alarming, particularly due to its implications for safety. This occurs about every third time I drive the vehicle. The dealership retained my vehicle for over a week to diagnose and address the issue. I received an email stating that the service was complete and the truck was ready for pickup. However, upon arrival, a service technician informed me that they could not identify the cause of the audio failure and, consequently, no repairs were made. I was told the dealership would continue consulting with general motors' corporate engineers to determine the cause and solution.

While driving my truck and making low speed turns the dashboard (including center console) cuts off, along with my power steering. The truck has also shut off completely making u-turns causing me to almost crash. This also happened while driving around 60mph on the freeway, the entire dashboard went out, loss of steering, and truck shut off, almost causing an accident. When it does happen, it will cut out in 1 second intervals and steering will work again for 2 seconds then cut out again for 1 second, this causing me to stall. There are no check engine lights, or service lights that stay on. However, I will get a message stating: you are memory setting 3 in the system (wording may be different). In some cases the stabilitrak light will come on, the park assist warning stating it shut off comes on dash, and trailer break. I have a full service aul warranty and had vehicle checked at certified dealership and no codes were recorded. I replaced battery and the problem is still happening. This is unsafe and should be part of the previous recall as my symptoms are the same exact symptoms as the other 2018 recall.

My vehicle is equipped with multiple safety systems offered by general motors. Since purchasing my vehicle new, I have had a persistent and recurring issue related to the vehicle safety system, which is resulted in numerous collision detection and advanced cruise control service is not functioning as designed, creating safety issues for both myself and potentially other motorist on the road. Additionally, the parking sensors are not working as expected, presumably due to the same issue, which has resulted in numerous safety concerns, including the detection of vehicles or objects, which were not present, resulting in the systematic breaking function engaging posing a risk to myself and surrounding motorists. I initially reported the issue to gm on 2/20/2025, when the vehicle had 467 miles on the odometer. Since the issue initially began, I have returned to the gm service department at my local dealer a total of seven (7) times. The local service department has been in contact with gm corporate office related to the issue, however, they have been unable to rectify the issue and continue to send the vehicle back out on the road claiming the issue has been resolved only for it to recur shortly thereafter. I believe that gm providing the safety features in an inoperable state poses great risk to the general public, and the NHTSA should investigate this issue alongside the other active systemic issues gm is currently under investigation of. At this time, it is unknown what is the cause of the issue, multiple parts have been replaced, and the true cause of the issue has been undiagnosed.

The issues with my vehicle began when the radio intermittently cut off or froze. Despite several attempts by the dealer to resolve the problem, they were unsuccessful. Early on, various electrical components failed to load or perform correctly, with the dealer attributing this to software updates. Currently, when the radio cuts off or freezes, I experience additional problems: the headlights randomly flash between dim and bright, the heads-up display fails to load or shows incomplete information, the collision detection activates with no objects around, and dynamic cruise control becomes unreliable or fails to engage. The wipers operate randomly, and the vehicle stalls when the auto start/stop feature is engaged. Random warning lights appear on the dash, and each day brings new, different issues. A new symptom involves the vehicle not recognizing the keys are inside, causing it to shut off and lock me inside. This recently happened while I was driving at low speed in a parking lot, which poses a serious safety risk. On the interstate, safety issues are more concerning: headlights flashing on and off, dynamic cruise control failing, blis and collision control activating unexpectedly, and the vehicle locking me inside with keys in the truck. My children are scared to ride in the vehicle due to these issues. The dealer claims they cannot replicate the problems, despite videos I’ve provided showing malfunctions. They acknowledge the issues but blame them on software updates. Multiple updates have been applied, but the problems continue and are becoming more frequent, affecting more systems. The vehicle is under warranty, but as of December 13, 2024, the dealer has refused to service it. After the dealer completed some work, an independent inspection confirmed the issues persist. Warning messages and malfunctioning lamps have been captured on video. Problem has been reported from first service approximately 6/2023 as radio malfunction / electrical issues.

I am writing to complain about that general motors has issued a retrofit program for 2022 model vehicles that did not come with safety features due to the microchip shortage. I purchased my vehicle new in 2021 and the vehicle did not have the option of having safety features at the time of purchase. I find not having the safety features in a large vehicle to be a safety concern for those that use the vehicle or around the vehicle. General motors should add the 2021 model vehicles that also did not have the ability to have those features on them added as a part of their retrofit program.

Truck has died going down the road at 40mph. Also have electrical issues with radio. . Running boards opening going down the road. No sound from radio, signals . . . No connections to google on star lost. Radio screen half of screen shuts off. Front crash sensors go off with noting in front of vehicle. . . Loss of cameras no connection. Sounds like a bug zapper under truck. Gm has reprogrammed truck now 3 times sent a tech from factory. . . Replaced radio reprogrammed all computers again!! truck has been in the shop this time for over 30 days with 6200 miles on it this is the 4th time since I bought in June. Have a case representative from gm who will not help with issues just keeps putting me off. Have videos pictures of all the issues and have given to dealer and gm.

I bought a new GMC, I received 3 vouchers for computer chips to be installed at a later time years ago. They have not provided them. They are selling new fully equipped vehicles with computers chips just fine. Can you handle and have GMC install their backlog of computer chips? there are many safety features that do not work, like parking assit and basically all warnings like when backing up etc. They made me sign a form stating they are not responsible for safety issues stemming from this (our inability to sue) this should be illegal. The back-up/reverse cameras black out mid action and also once the vehicle is put in reverse. During inclement weather conditions, a car stopped abruptly in front of me to avoid a huge pool of water on the highway and the forward collision braking system did not kick in and now the light is illuminated on the dash board and won't turn off.

The forward collision assist and lane keep assist are suddenly not working. This seems to be a software or eletrical issue.

Truck has the safety package on some point stop working bring the truck to the dealer but they don’t know how to figure out I need help with this.

The front camera stopped working, causing the safety systems to shut off. Codes u026a & u0078 "no communication failure". The camera was ordered and replaced.

2019 Sierra 1500 slt defective front camera surround only 51,000 miles. Forward collision warning not work,lane departure warning not work,intellibeam head lights not work. Replace camera with labor at the dealer cost me $860. 00 dolls.

The light in the dashboard gose dark and it gives me a warning collision alert and the tiers they spin out of control when turning or when I I’m driving I think it’s the tiers they have a lot of tread still….

Needs to be fix and NHTSA states that they can not fix it.

I went and got an alignment,a day after the stabilitrak and traction control message came on. I went back to see if it could be fix it and was told it didn't come on when they test drove it. The same day it came on again, so I went to a GMC dealership. I was told my steering wheel pos sensor is bad. I was in motion on a city street,going and coming from work(happens in same exact spot on the street(s). This is my only form of transportation and what I need to do.

Within 3 months (<4000 miles) from purchase vehicle began sputtering with hesitation, and ticking noise from engine while in motion followed by multiple alerts posting on driver display. Vehicle displays loss of power, and struggles to keep up with traffic. Check engine light flashing followed by constantly staying on, service esc system activated, service parking brake, and steering assist reduced drive with caution lights all activated during this episode. Dealer worked on vehicle engine ( and completed on or around 1/08/2021), and replaced lifters, and oil control valve. On 01/13/2021 noticed that vehicles lane keep assist is now working sporadically, will not activate consistently when vehicle veers off the properly marked lanes on high-way/roads, and inconsistently alerts driver while in motion. The lane keep assist is suppose to correct steering, but this does not happen consistently. The collision alert system does not activate or work correctly. Noticed while driving that vehicles in front are not detected correctly, and informs the driver they are within safe distance (green this suddenly changes to yellow). In addition when vehicles in front apply brake, the collision alert system does not alert as it is supposed to, it stays in green even at extremely close range. Safety mechanisms don't appear to work correctly, and detects items that are not present. Noticed that vehicle detects lanes even on unmarked roads, and the front pedestrian alert system activates sporadically even if no pedestrians are in front of vehicle while driving. Concerned about safety features leading to hazardous driving conditions.

Tl- the contact owns a 2017 GMC sierra. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would intermittently stall as the instrument panel would draw blank. The contact stated that the vehicle would resume normal driving within five seconds of the failure. The contact also mentioned that he had injured his left wrist while turning the steering wheel as the vehicle stalled. Landers Buick GMC(78 goodman rd e, southaven, ms 38671) was made aware of the defect but have yet offer any assistance. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The contact had linked that failure to the forward collision warning system. The vehicle had yet to be serviced. The failure mileage was unknown. Jo.
