Vehicle Speed Control problem #1

I own a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 crew cab pickup with 59,000 miles. In the last 4 months the speedometer has been giving incorrect readings, I. E. 70 mph when stopped, 115 when doing 40 mph etc. On occasion, it either doesn't work at all, or the needle is fully pegged. There is no way to tell how fast this vehicle is going. GMC customer service has stated that they can provide no financial assistance for the $320 repair because "they cannot make a business case for it. " GMC refuses to acknowledge that this is a pervasive problem throughout many of their vehicles in this model year despite ample documentation of the problem easily found at auto repair websites on the internet. Additionally, previous complaints of this exact nature and exact vehicle have been filed with NHTSA.

Fail To Accelerate problem #2

The contact owns a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate and the fuel restriction warning light illuminated. The failure occurred multiple times. The vehicle was towed to the contact¿s home. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
