Def light came on and the display saying service exhaust fuel system and refer to manual. That gave me nothing. The codes that came up is p2209 and p20b9. So the heater in the def tank is broken and the nox reading is wrong or has gone out. Then my speed was reduced to max 55 mph. Dealer said it would be $1500 to fix but after reading forums on-line there have been a lot is issues with the def system, fixing it, and then still displays issue. Am I going to get this repaired and still have an issue like others?.

My 2017 GMC 2500 sierra denali duramax has had this throttle issue, it seems to only do it when the exhaust stinks, and at speeds between 5 - 55 mph. If I take my foot off the accelerator the truck maintains rpm (1200 - 1400) or even has increased some and has lasted 2 - 5 seconds (estimated and greatly reduces the effectiveness of the braking capacity and responsiveness/stopping distance). Worst was with a huge trailer behind and I got up to speed 55 on county hwy 8, and I let off the accelerator and it kept going hard and I got on the brakes and I couldn't slow it down until the truck decided to release off the throttle. (two witnesses in the vehicle, one a gm tech, stating your vehicle is not safe and needs to be looked at) it's happened about 25 times in 5700 miles in various settings & speeds and has occurred frequently in town at speeds of 25 - 35 mph. There maybe several hundred miles in between episodes if you will, as they occur in clusters when exhaust stinks and gone when exhaust does not stink. Truck also had torque converter not unlock and damn near choked the engine off at stop sign right after a throttle stuck condition. Got home the other night and fuel gauge stopped working! back up camera is daylight bright at night, low coolant issues, map sensor issue, engine surged the other day, what next? it's constantly been at dealerships with no answers. My wife won't drive it anymore and wishes I wouldn't either fearing it will cause an accident and she's probably right. Gm has stated they are aware of the problem but will not provide any trade in assistance dollars to get it off the road and there is no fix. $70,000+ truck, lives at risk and no serious response from gm?.

Exhaust manafold bolts are breaking off for no apparent reason. I have four broken already and an exhaust leak developing. This appears to be a defect in manufacturing. I have a friend with two of the same trucks that the same thing has happened to. There are numerous complaints posted on the web. I have had many vehicals over the years and worked them hard but have never seen a broken exhaust manafold bolt on any of them. This can be a dangerous situation as having exhaust leaks under hood could cause a fire. As far as I know gm has not issued a bulletin or recall on this but there should be some remediation as this is an expensive repair and it is not a failure caused by the lack of maintenance. I have also heard reports of repaired units breaking again in about the same number of miles and having to be repaired again.

Left and right sides rear exhaust manifold bolts broken off. It leaks exhaust, may be a fire hazard and could cause emissions failure and emissions components failures. This problem is on a 2004 GMC 6. 0 engine. Noticed ticking noise at about 38000 miles and it would go away after 30-45 seconds. A gm rep said it was most likely the skirt less pistons and not to worry. Had some work done at a garage about a week ago and mechanic pointed out the broken bolts.

Exhaust manifold bolts broken off (4). 6. 0 l engine and exhaust is escaping and entering cabin.
Exhaust leaking under hood due to broken exhaust manifold bolts. Carbon monoxide hazard. This seems to be a common problem for owners of several years of gm engines.
Broken exhaust manifold bolts causing excessive noise and emissions issues.
The exhaust manifold bolts were broke on side of the exhaust manifold so far. The mechanic at fw tucker and son, in, oswego, NY 315-342-0444 stated that they have replaced these on 12 trucks and after further research, I have found that there have been over 12,000 vehicles that have to had these replaced. The truck is less than 5 years old and has 54,000 miles on it. I called and filed a complaint with GMC (service request #[xxx] ) and was told that they found that it wasn't a common problem and they found no indication that it was an ongoing problem, however 12,000 vehicles is an ongoing problem. The vehicle is a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500hd truck. I had to pay to have the exhaust manifold removed, to have the bolts extracted, the cost of the new bolts and the installation of the bolts, new exhaust manifold gaskets and seals. I also had to pay to have the engine oil removed and the replacement of the engine oil dipstick tube. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500 hd with 32000 miles. I have had to replace the brakes and rotors twice because they have rusted and rotted away. I have had to replace my exhaust because of rust and the entire under carriage and frame are heavily rusted. I have just recently noticed that there is even rust inside the cab, interior doors, chrome is bubbling.

I have owned my 2001 GMC Sierra 2500hd truck since it was new. The vehicle currently has approximately 92,000 miles on it. During the time I have owned it, it has had a problem with the exhaust manifolds coming loose, due to loosing studs, broken studs or the studs just falling out. The two dealerships have repaired this problem four or five times while under warranty and the problem has occurred again. I have never seen this kind of problem on any other vehicle that I have owned and I have owned many vehicles. The danger that this problem creates is the possibility of fire and carbon monoxide in the cab of the truck. Gm/the dealerships refuse to address this issue, so I am forced to turn it over to you.
Ticking noise coming from engine compartment.
The contact owns a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500. The fly wheel, which runs with the transmission and helps change gears has had to be replaced three times within two years. While driving approximately 10 mph during the first failure, there was a loud clicking noise and it became louder over time. The dealer stated the vehicle was operating normally. A few weeks later, the noise was much louder; however, a different dealer 2 hours away diagnosed the vehicle and stated that the fly wheel failed. After being repaired 24,000 miles and a year later, the failure recurred. The fly wheel was replaced again and lasted 5 months before it failed. The power steering shaft also needed to be replaced due to it being worn out and failed again nine months later. The failure mileage was 22,800 and the current mileage was 55,000. Updated 06/08/09 the power steering gear was leaking due to leaking gear assembly, the hvac blower was inoperative, the flywheel was cracked. The dealer replaced the stripped and broken exhaust studs. Updated 06/18/09.
This is my 2nd GMC 6. 0l that has broken exhaust bolts first truck broke 3 bolts at 32,000 miles, replaced by dealer and broke bolts off again at 39,000 miles. Now have 2005 with 51,000 mile with three broken manifold bolts and an exhaust leak. This is a very expensive repair that is a design problem.
