The contact owns a 2012 GMC Sierra 2500. While driving approximately 35 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The following day, while driving approximately 35 mph, the "service exhaust fluid system", "see owners manual now", and "97 miles before 65 mph nax speed" messages appeared. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer (trice hughs gm in princeton, kentucky) where it was diagnosed that the in tank fuel sensor, three glow plugs, and the nox sensor had shorted and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000.

The tubular frame that supports both the gas tank and rear passenger side shock absorber extremely rusts out causing the frame to eventually disconnect from itself and allow the gas tank to drop and/or the shock to disconnect from the axle, both in which may cause a fatal accident.

I had to replace a fuel line last fall because it rusted thru. . On June 6 2014 I noticed fuel dripping from the fender edge which was found to be a fuel leak from a line on top the tank.

Noticed something leaking under truck in front of fuel tank. Fuel line leaking at connections above fuel cooler (lines look good but all connections are badly rusted) dealer wants $1,700. 00 to repair, says there is no recall.
