1 Air Bag problem of the 2006 GMC Sierra 3500

Failure Date: 01/30/2026

The front impact sensor, also known as a crash sensor (part # 10370150), is no longer functional. It detects rapid vehicle deceleration during a frontal collision and sends an immediate signal to the airbag control unit (acu) to deploy airbags. Located behind the front bumper or on the radiator support, these sensors measure impact severity to ensure airbags deploy only when necessary. This part is no longer available from gm or any other aftermarket distributor. It is a critical part for any occupants in a crash. I am just one of many people who cannot make safety corrections.

2 Air Bag problem of the 2012 GMC Sierra 3500

Failure Date: 12/10/2025

Our dash board cracked very badly from the top next to the speaker to the passenger side air bag. We purposely use a dash board cover and never place heavy things on it. This is a safety issue as if getting in an accident wouldn’t be bad enough flying shrapnel would be worse. We just had it fixed at a dealership to the tune of $2500. This is not okay as I see this is a constant problem.

4 Air Bag problem of the 2022 GMC Sierra 3500

Failure Date: 09/15/2025

I tried to honk the horn when a car started to come into my lane and discovered that it was not working. I took it to the dealership, and they said it needed a new steering wheel as the contacts that operate the horn were faulty. They told me that the steering wheel airbag would not be operational due to this problem until it was fixed. This is a 2022 pickup with only 10,000 miles on it. I’ve never had to use the horn before I, so to discover that the issue is pretty serious was disconcerting, and of course my 36 month bumper-to-bumper is used up. This vehicle is basically brand-new, and there should be a recall on this vehicle.

10 Air Bag problem of the 2022 GMC Sierra 3500

Failure Date: 07/27/2022

On July 27, 2022 I was driving my 2022 GMC truck on the freeway. I was rear ended by a semi truck and the passenger side was side swiped by the semi. I was driving the truck with my wife and two kids as passengers. The truck was completely totaled. No airbags deployed and the seat belts did not restrain us. All 4 of us were wearing seat belts. Also, the drivers seat completely broke, it looked like it had been completely reclined to a laying position. A police report was made. All 4 of us were taken by ambulance to the hospital. All 4 of us needed medical care. The truck was totaled and towed, the insurance has since taken possession of the truck. There were no warning lights, service lights or any indication that there was anything faulty with the truck. We had just purchased it in February 2022. My safety, as well as the safety of others was put at risk. The semi truck driver stated he was driving 60mph. If this isn't enough for air bags to deploy, I don't know what is. The seat belts also failed to restrain us. The seat belts were completely loose and during the accident failed to secure us. Again, the drivers entire seat completely broke causing severe head, neck and back injuries.
