Lt275/65r20. We were traveling about 74 mph on hwy 90 going westbound, when suddenly we heard an explosion and noticed pieces of the passenger rear tires coming apart. It was about 90 degrees when we were on the road, and I had checked the tire pressure earlier that day, and it was at the recommended tire pressure. At no point during our trip was there a low-pressure warning or we did not hit any object on the road. We would have had a severe accident if the tire had been on the front. The tread seems to have separated from the tire, causing major damage to the truck bed. The tire was manufactured in week 20 of 2022, and it still had a good amount of tread remaining. I do have front and rear dashcam footage available.

The right rear tire (goodyear wrangler 275/65r20) separated and blew out on the highway, the truck was very difficult to control however it was safely stopped and there were no injuries. There was no observed warning prior to the blow out. The tire separation caused damage to the right rear quarter panel. The spare was installed and finished the trip safely. A tire shop found a second tire with evidence of separation on the left front corner. The tire that blew out on the highway is (dot pjot jb1v 0721) and the other 3 including the one with evidence of separation is (dot pjot jb1v 0821). The blown tire has been returned to goodyear in ohio by the auto repair facility at goodyears request. Goodyear is refusing to assess the other 3 tires unless I bring them to an authorized service center which is not possible with only 3 functional tires including the spare. The 3 remaining tires are at the auto repair facility.

Goodyear wrangler trailrunner at, lt275/65r20, factory installed on a 2020 GMC sierra denali 3500. While traveling 60 mph pulling a fifth wheel in south texas on a clear and dry day, the rear passenger tire unexpectedly lost its tread. As we slowed down, it completely lost tire pressure and we ran on the rim until coming to a complete stop. Immediately prior to the incident, the tpms and other safety systems in the truck read normal. There were no system warnings and no objects in the road. It put us in a dangerous situation as we were stopped on the shoulder of the highway right before a bridge and had our 3 children in the backseat. We called the police, but they never sent anyone to help with traffic. The rear fender and the wheel well of the truck were badly damaged. We have the faulty tire and it is available for inspection.

- the contact called regarding the 2005 GMC sierra. The passenger's front tire was replaced by the dealer at 6000 miles because there was no tread left on the tire. The driver's side front tire had worn unevenly, and the passenger's front tire was starting to wear out as well. The failure mileage is 9,691. The dealer stated the reason for the premature wear was because the vehicle was out of alignment. The contact took the vehicle to an independent dealer, and was told that the vehicle was aligned according to GMC specs. GMC offered to give the contact $500 towards the purchase of new tires, but the contact refused the offer. The current mileage was 9,691.

Contact stated the tread on 2 firestone tire come off. The first one came off at 19,657 miles on 6-10-05. The second one came off at 22,250 miles on 7-13-05 while traveling 65 mph. He brought them to firestone on 6-10-05. They made him an offer, but it did not seem reasonable. One month later, the second tire failed, and they prorated the tires for wear. Contact was concerned there was a defect in the tires, and would like to file a complaint. The tires were the original ones that came on the truck that he bought in 2001. They would not give him the new tires until he gave them the old tires. There was damage done to truck. He still had the first tire that was damaged. The tires that failed were the left and right rear tires. Updated 11/30/2005 -.

We have 4 1999 GMC 3500 series long vans used to transport students to various functions. Returning from a field trip (with children) one of the tires suffered a ply separation. The driver did an excellent job of maintaining control and the tire was changed out by our towing service. Further inspection showed another tire possibly ready to fail, and odd wear patterns. Our district in the interests of safety decided to replace all 16 tires on all 4 vans. We would like to know if there are other problems with this particular type of tire. . . The tires are firestone steeltex radial r4x - lt245/75r16 load range e - dot# vn11 - 81a - 169 and dot # sp872r - d15l.
