Two problems related to power assist brake vacuum have been reported for the 1996 GMC Sonoma. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Power brake booster failed making hte brake pedal diffucult to depress, even when depressed the brake do not function properly. Nlm.
When traveling and upon depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle becomes very difficult to stop. Pedal gets very hard to depress, causing extended stopping distance due to the power assist booster which needed replacement. Consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer has replaced the brake booster pump.
