12 problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 1997 GMC Sonoma. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Brake pedal will go straight to floor under heavy braking if traveling on any uneven surface. Brakes need to be recalibrated. Dealer wouldn't acknowledge recall. Consumer has been trying to get this fixed since 1998.
Intermittently when brakes are applied pedal becomes hard, resulting in extended stopping distance, and causing a collision. Dealer has inspected vehicle, and was not able to duplicate the problem.

Brakes: driving approximately 10mph and approaching a red light, attempting to stop the brakes went completely to the floor, and had a hard time stopping because the brakes would not hold. Had towed to ripley's brakes, a local body shop, and they could not find any problem.

When appling the abs brakes on wet or dry pavement all four wheels lock up, cause unknown. Please give any further details.
