Body Problems of GMC Sonoma

The 3rd door on ext cab. The door does not open. Was told by dealer this is major complaints for these 3rd models. Have to replace pins or something, but it keeps happening. This a a life & death hazard & defect. Why hasn't this been recalled? in an accident, (rear ended) the door could not be opened.

Tl- the contact owns a 1997 GMC Sonoma. While driving approximately 35 mph, the driver heard a loud popping sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. The driver inspected the vehicle and noticed that the front and rear frame was cracked. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. I had a 97 GMC Sonoma that I was going down a dirt road about 30-35 mph and swerved to miss a truck coming on my side of the road and lost traction and flipped over a hill and rolled 3 times and the airbags didnt deploy and the drivers seatbelt snapped .

Driver was going approx. 40mph down the rural highway in heavy rain and the truck in front of her came to a stop. By the time the driver of the Sonoma saw the truck it was too late to stop and not hit the stopped vehicle. The driver of the Sonoma hit the stopped truck and totaled the Sonoma. At no point did the driver airbag deploy.

Was slowing down for upcoming light and out corner of my eye seen deer leap over tall grass on left oncoming side of road, was already at 40 miles hit brake to hopefully not hit her so by the time she and I had impact the vehicle was going bout 35 miles hr. Tore up right side of fender, door, hood, front grill, and something to do with the motor, the sensor lights now keep coming on showing airbag. Abc, seatbelt the service light comes on and then goes off. Have had it cked with machine and it shows a recall on the lights if a crash occurs it will make them malfunction.

The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the defect was remedied. The contact stated the same door handle fractured a second time. The failure was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 92,000.

Glove box fell open too far and dumped all contents onto the floor.
