Blow out of rear driver side tire ,on a 1996 GMC, Suburban four wheel drive ,with 58,000 miles on it.

2 Tire problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2000

Tire tread completely separated with no warning. Did not blow out, just came apart. ( dot number: w211bab445 tire size: 245/75r16 ).

3 Tire problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2000

Tire began making flapping noise at highway speeds, pressures checked and ok. Tire appears out of round, and unsafe. Car has only been driven about 50-75 miles. Live in rural area and closest dealer is 84 miles one way, since other dealer closed. Awaiting outcome of NHTSA investigation but will need to replace these tires. 4 Tire problem

Failure Date: 08/15/1998

Left rear firestone tire separated from rim.

5 Tire problem

Failure Date: 08/13/1998

Accident is in litigation; two experts have examined the tire and determined that separation caused by a manufacturing defect. Bridgestone/firestone has I. D. The tire as manufactured 7th week of 1996 in decateur factory; the is no issue of under or over inflation.
