Five problems related to brake disc rotor have been reported for the 1999 GMC Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer was concerned that the front rotors wore out prematurely. Vehicle had 6-8 sets of front rotors replaced within five years. This was due to warped/out of round rotors.
Excessive brake wear- rotors replaced @13,000 miles and 2nd second set 28,000 miles.
Disc brake rotors were warped. There was a lot of wobbling in steering wheel after applying brakes. Took vehicle to dealer & informed by mechanic that front disc brakes were warped badly & needed to be replaced.
Vehicle's brakes wore out several times, dealer discovered the worn brake pads were ocurring because the hub on the front left brake was warped and this vehicle must have left the factory with the warped hub.
I have had 3 sets of brakes. Now they are worn again, 32,000 miles, with cracked rotors. Dealer will not fix.
