Differential Unit problems of the 1999 GMC Suburban

Six problems related to differential unit have been reported for the 1999 GMC Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Differential Unit problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2002

For a brand new Suburban I don't feel it should be having major part problems. No safety defect listed.

2 Differential Unit problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2000

Windshield cracked up middle, we've seen many GMC products with the same crack.

3 Differential Unit problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2000

The entire rear end had to be replaced, the dealer said they see this quite a bit.

4 Differential Unit problem

Failure Date: 10/10/1999

Every time vehicle is driven with the headlights on, headlights flicker on and go off. Vehicle has been taken to the dealership four times in a six-month period. Dealer was not able to fix the problem. Also, doors are warped/engine runs rough/replaced differential/brakes are locking up.

5 Differential Unit problem

Failure Date: 09/23/1998

Rear differential leaking onto brakes, causing brake fading. Mjs.

6 Differential Unit problem

Vehicle has defective transmission/ engine, transaxle,ring and pinion,gear/engine bearing/brake booster/ front brake pads and calipers,and suspension. Consumer feels vehicle was poorly manufactured, especially when pulling trailor or with load. Please provide further information.
