The positive battery terminal post broke loose from the battery, spilling battery acid on the brake tubing. Discussed battery failure with gm and they refused to replace battery due to the fact the vehicle was out of warranty.

The battery failed completely and suddenly. The vehicle was operating fine. Then suddenly there was absolutely no power. On inspection, the oem delco battery case had cracked and acid spilled. Positive battery post was loose in case. GMC dealer reports many similar failures.

1998, GMC, Suburban, replacement battery leaks onto right front wheel brake hose, corroding the fitting. Dealer has been notified. Consumer stated this is the second battery that has failed.
Battery failed and leaked battery acid into engine compartment. Intermittent failure to start was subsequent to battery failure. No apparent damage to brake subsystem apparent yet, will investigate brakes further.
