I have this 2022 GMC Terrain with 19,000. Miles on it. It is out of warranty by 2 months and not years or miles. On 6-23-23 the vehicle was brought to napelton GMC for a recalled fuel pump flow module. It was fixed and the recall was closed. How ever now 9-2-2025 with 19,000 miles I am expericing the same issue again. It was towed to the deal and diagnosed with the same issue. This time they are not covering it because the recall was completed. However I feel that with only going 13,000 miles since repaired they should be covering it again. They told me the repair cost is "to little" to offer anything. The cost with the tow is around $762. 00 . I was told by gm "not the dealship" that if I submit a ticket showing the vehicle was repaired they could look at other compnesation options. Please help. I only am arguing becuase this was a recalled item that hasnt lasted very long.

My GMC Terrain 2011 is having trouble accelerating, and I hear a noise from the engine. When I am at a stop light and I try to accelerate, it pulls and doesn't go forward. It's stalking my Terrain. I did some research, and I found that this vehicle has a recall #12313d- special coverage adjustment- engine balance chain and fuel pump. I looked up, and it seems this vehicle has 0 unclaimed recalls. So, I'm concern because this vehicle is stalling and not working as it should be. The recall does say, if left untreated, could cause the chain to break, leading to engine damaged.

Fuel pump failure allowing gasoline into crankcase in large volumes. Rough idle, constant stalling, misfiring, fuel smell recirculating into cabin. Exact issue addressed by gm recall for my exact Terrain and equivalent chevy equinox with 2. 4 ecotec. Was told mine was not covered as it wasn't in correct VIN range though same make, model, year, motor, highly dangerous combustible issue matched. Dealer charged me $700+ for replacement/repair of fuel pump, both O2 sensors, fuel line, oil change to rid gas diluted oil. 2 days, 50 miles later, O2 code engine light comes on, erratic idling begins, power loss then stalls. Removed oil cap to smell and find gasoline mixed back into oil. Between 1/8 - 1/4 quart gasoline in the crankcase after 50 miles of driving! this after "repair" at "certified" chevy dealership; a dangerous manufacturing flaw gm acknowledged was a problem but I was told, " not on yours though, wrong VIN". Thank you for placing my loved ones in danger gm, refusing to fix your own recall, charging me over$700 to worsen the issue and place my family in greater danger.
My vehicle, 2010 GMC Terrain, at times would sputter and act like it wants to die at idle, so I took it into the dealership and they found that the high pressure fuel pump was leaking into the crankcase contaminating the oil with fuel. There is currently a recall for this issue, #43180: product emission recall high pressure fuel pump, reference # n16204318, release date: September 2016. I was told that my vehicle was not part of this recall because it did not include my VIN. I believe that the recall needs to be expanded to cover more vehicles because there are more vehicles that are affected by this issue.

As I was driving down the road at 55 mph hour my SUV began to shake extremely and was throttling at very high rpm's and the SUV thrash to sudden halt and continued to shake and idle very high and loud. I tried to hit the gas to get myself off the road as I was on a 2 lane highway with my 4 year old son in the car, and the engine revved and the rpm's spiked but I went not more than 15 mph, at the same time the following errors appeared on my screen: 1) service stabaili trak 2) engine power is reduced slowly I was able to safely get the car up to 35 mph and get us home safe. I did some research and seems that this is a very well known issue with GMC so I contacted GMC and was basically given the runaround. I took the car to a GMC dear today and was told it was the fuel pump that needed replaced. . . . .

The fuel pump nozzle doesn't stay connected to the vehicle during refueling. Fuel spills on the ground or on your person and risk of spark when the pump nozzle hits the ground in a puddle of gas.

Purchased my certified 2011 GMC Terrain 7/12/2016. After driving a few days noticed car was stalling while accelerating or in stop and go traffic. (1st service) took it in 7/28/2016 to be serviced, was told it was the catalytic converter-vehicle was better, but still hesitates on take off (2nd service) took it in 11/10/2016 received the recall notice about the fuel pump. Finally it seems to be driving betterfor a couple of weeks (3rd service) took in 1/16/2017 to be serviced- car completely shut off on busy highway several times during morning rush hour (stop and go traffic), this time engine light came on. Was told something to do with electrical programming communicating with the fuel pump?! as of today car is starting to stall and hesitate again. My certified warranty is up in 3/2017, my fear is next few incidents will not be covered. Keep in mind I have not had this vehicle a year yet. I have a certified lemon. I deserve a refund/upgrade.
While driving at about 5 miles an hour, turning vehicle around a cul-DE-sac the vehicle completely turns off. I have contacted the GMC dealership about this and the only recall I was told was the fuel pump. I was told they would order my parts and they would call me; I never received a call. I have towed the vehicle to two repair shops and I have been told by both that it is a timing chain issue and I need to install a new engine! I called the GMC dealership and asked if the recall could be a direct result of my timing chain issue, and if I had any other recalls? I was told I would have to pay for them to look at my vehicle if not apart of the recall. I do not have the extra money to pay multiple times for my car to be looked at or to put an engine in a vehicle that has less than 85k miles. I purchased this vehicle in late December of 2015 and have not be able to drive the vehicle since about September of 2016. I have gotten at least two oil changes in that time frame (Dec-sept) from the same GMC dealership and was never told about any recalls or any issues with my vehicle besides needing tires/brakes. One of the mechanics that I took the vehicle to said I have other recalls. I was not able to locate any others online and that is my reason for writing this. I am very unsatisfied and do not know how to proceed.
I ordered this vehicle in 12/2009 and received it 2/2010. There have been several recalls and most recently I had to replace cam shaft accuators and high pressure fuel pump to the tune of $1800. 00. My wife was driving home from work and the car was rattling and vibrating like it had two flat tires. Before that she informed that the service engine and stabilitrak lights had come on. There is a noise that rattles in the exhaust and I have had problems with the heater not working in the cold days of wisconsin. I am highly disappointed in GMC, who received a "bail out" now owners of this vehicle need a "bail out" from this terrible design of a vehicle.
There are several issues with this vehicle which makes me think this car was a lemon, unreported by original owner, or in a flood; 1st, the rear hatch struts were totally rusted out and inoperable (reinforcing my flood thought. ) 2nd, the vehicles mpg is nowhere near the advertised 22/32 - I mentioned my concern several times to the service dept, the sales man, and the certified sale manager; their solution - they reset the gauge on the dashboard! 3rd, within days of my purchase, I noticed a knock under my car that sounded like an axle was going to bust through my floorboard it was knocking so hard! after numerous service repair attempts & visits back to the dealer, one visit lasting approximately 7 days, they think they've fixed the problem. Secondary fuel tank fuel pump module - (contributing to fuel consumption issue?) 4th, the windshield wipers stopped working while I was driving to work, in the fast lane, @ 6am one dark, rainy morning, during a torrential down pour almost causing a major pile up! 5th, check engine light, stumbles and misfires on acceleration, shuts off when stopped at a stop sign or traffic light. Repaired/several hundred dollars later. 6th, the continuing issues have been, but not limited to reduced engine power, rough idle, engine sputters, hesitates, poor gas mileage, & excessive oil consumption. 7th, another check engine light, now fuel-injectors need replaced (another contributor to fuel consumption issue?) . After further review of the vehicle's cpo paperwork, this is not the certified vehicle being referred to on the paperwork. There are items checked off on the report that do not apply to this vehicle. I would have never overpaid for a cpo vehicle had I know their "rigorous standards" meant absolutely nothing! I have bought many cars in my life, both new and used cars and never had any of the issues I am having with this vehicle!.

We live in California and the carb fuel pump nozzles are cumbersome beasts. But the nozzle pops out of the fuel filler when placed on auto-fill at 4 out of 5 gas stations. It's dangerous when it pops out and falls on the ground sometimes pumping gas all over. I took the Terrain to the dealer and of cource they can't find anything wrong with it. What gives and what's the fix?.
2010 GMC Terrain started making a rattling noise and shaking a stop, like a rough idle, took it to the dealership to get it fixed under warranty, had to replace water pump, blance shaft chain and tensioner replaced intake and exhaust. Camshaft position actuators and bolts replaced high pressure, fuel pump replaced v/c gasket timing chain tensioner and left timing chain guide. That was replaced 09/07/13 in warranty. Now it is 3/09/15 and the same problems have come up again and my car is currently in the shop at the dealership , that means there is a serious problem with this make of engine and it should be recalled before someone gets hurt because of it.
The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the contact noticed an abnormal noise and noticed that the timing chain had fractured. The check engine warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact noticed fuel fumes emitting from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the timing chain, water pump, fuel pump, pistons, spark plugs, gasket and multiple unknown parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle repaired. However, the contact stated that while reversing at a low speed, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 46,000.
The vehicle just stops while driving, this is very dangerous and can cause a major accident. Dealer said the fuel pump was leaking!. . For an almost brand new car this was unacceptable!. . Now it just happend again. . The vehicle stops/the engine shuts down while driving!. . Im taking the vehicle again to the dealership to see what they say. . .
