1 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2022 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 10/04/2023

We did the recall for the fuel module. Now the fuel guage goes to empty when tank is full. Took it in for repair they said couldnt find anything wrong. A few days later it did read incorrectly said quarter tank my wife ran out of gas in a bad area. Called preston the dealer we bought it from they wanted me to bring it in again I told them to order the part they replaced because we never had an issue till they did the recall. Was told it would be 6 to 8 months to get part. I feel this is a bad problem we have to watch our mileage to make sure we dont run out of gas. Brand new car and they cant get parts thats ridiculous. And now engine light is on.

2 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 12/29/2020

My daughter was driving to a friends house. She lost all power, and the vehicle would not start back up. There was 3/4 tank of gas in it. We had it towed to a nearby shop to have it looked at. Upon the vehicle leaving it had a lot of gas on the gravel road. When it made it to the shop there was obvious fuel line issues. This vehicle has not been fixed yet, still waiting on a replacement line from a dealership. This is something that gm should have had recalled and fixed immediately. This might have been an issue that would have been fixed due to it still under a manufacturers warranty, but I do not have access to that. The shop where the work is going to get fixed at said this was covered up to 150,000 miles. If this was an issue to that mileage, it should be extended to the life of the vehicle.

3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 02/13/2020

When refueling vehicle at a gas station, at a full stop, with the engine turned off, the gasoline pump will not stay on while inserted into the fuel tank of my 2011 GMC Terrain, no matter which fuel vendor I buy a fill up from. I have had this car for several years, and it has never worked properly. I decided to reach out to see if this is a normal issue for this vehicle. If it is not, then could this be a recall event? thanks for your helpfulness.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2013 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 10/05/2015

I was about to switch lanes on highway from on ramp travelling aprpox 60 mph and accelerating when my vehicle suddeling stopped accelerating & someone pulled up on my side to inform me I was leaking fuel everywhere. I lost nearly a full tank of gas on the highway. One of the men who stopped had worked on gm vehicles in the past and was able to clip something together to slow the leak. I drove to the dealership and they were no help and didn't seem to care about the issue or how serious this was for a 2 year old car with 37k miles. I was told I was out of warranty and they would not do anything for me and were going to charge me a $200 diagnostic fee. Disappointed by the poor service I received I took the car to my local mechanic who works on our other vehicle. They were shocked to see a fuel line on a 2013 vehicle break. They ordered the replacement fuel line from gm and I got my car back on 5 days later. The next day I took my car out to run errands and when returning to the vehicle I noticed a strong smell of gas, upon looking under the car I noticed that the fuel line was still leaking and from the same place! we brought the vehicle back to the shop and they immediately go in touch with gm who sent out another replacement part and also recommended also replacing the metal line as they had been seeing some issues with this line. Under the recommendation of gm the shop replaced both lines and I got my car back 3 days later. The problems I have experienced are unacceptable and could be very dangerous. Fortunately no one was hurt but had I been in the high speed lane and traveling at full speed limit when this happen I or someone else could have been seriously injured by this issue. Given the age of the car and low mileage this is not a wear and tear issue, this is 100% a defective part or mfg problem that I expect gm to reimburse $670 for repair.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 08/09/2013

After stopping at mailbox the low fuel illuminated, the fuel gauge indicated empty. The tank was half full prior to the 12 mile trip home from town. Not sure when the problem occurred, because it might have taken a few minutes to pump out 8 or 9 gallons of gas, however it was on this12 mile trip home. 6 miles of highway at 55 mph and 5 miles of paved county road at 30 mph and 1 mile of gravel road at 20 mph. After the low fuel indication the engine was stopped, fuel was added from a container, and when the engine was started the fuel streamed out on the ground. The vehicle was towed to a local repair facility, because it was closer than the dealer. Gas line and clamp were replaced. The mechanic indicated the plastic gas line and plastic clamp were hanging low, and no protective cove over it.
