When door unlocks via fob proximity or unlock command, the door itself also opens. This happened when stationary in the car and approaching the car. I did not attempt to do this when the car was in motion. The door must always be manually closed when this happens.

Lift gate on this vehicle opens to a height of 69 inches . At 74 inches I am constantly banging my head on the lift gate. My 2017 model opened to at least 76 inches which is more reasonable. I consider this a safety issue, as this is a flaw in the design of the vehicle. The model that has a power lift gate opens to around 76 inches. . A full 7 inches higher than the manual one. . The dealership never pointed out this problem to me seeing that I am 74 inches tall.
I parked my vehicle in the driveway. Upon exiting the vehicle I used the key fob to lock the vehicle, it beeped and began to walk away. As I was about 10 steps from the vehicle, it beeped again as if I hit the fob and restarted itself. It literally restarted itself. They keys were not in the ignition, they were in my hand. I was unable to unlock the vehicle using the key fob and had to manually open the door using the actual key in the door lock. I was unable to turn the vehicle off by reinserting the key in the ignition. I wiggled the shifter and the car turned off. This is the fourth the car has been running while the keys were not in the ignition and it is the second time the vehicle restarted itself without the key being in the ignition. This is clearly a manufacturing issue. What are you waiting for to add this vehicle to the recall list? property damage and personal injury will eventually occur and then I will sue GMC for damages. I am officially putting GMC on notice. Please recall this vehicle and fix this issue.

I put the vehicle in park, turned the ignition off, removed the key from the ignition and exited the vehicle. I got some items from my trunk and went about my business. I returned to my vehicle a few minutes later only to notice the lights were on and it was running. I was unable to unlock the vehicle using the key fob and had to manually unlock the door. I put the key in the ignition to turn the vehicle off again and it would not turn off. I wiggled the gear shift and it finally turned off. This is the third time this has happened. Please add my vehicle to the recall list before someone gets injured or before there is property damage.
09/08/18 I put the vehicle in park, turned the ignition off, removed the key from the ignition and exited the vehicle. I got some items from my trunk and went about my business. About 45 minutes later, I returned to my vehicle only to notice the lights were on and it was running. I was unable to unlock the vehicle using the key fob and had to manually unlock the door. I put the key in the ignition to turn the vehicle off again and it would not turn off. I wiggled the gear shift and it finally turned off. This is the second time this has happened. Please add my vehicle to the recall list as this is the exact issue that the other GMC Terrain 2012 are having.
I turned off the ignition to my 2012 GMC Terrain, removed the key and opened the trunk/hatch to retrieve some items. As I attempted to lock the vehicle I realized it was still running. I was unable to use the key fob to unlock the doors and had to open them manually. It took two attempts at inserting the key in to the ignition and turning it "off" before the vehicle actually turned off. This is an issue with this vehicle yet according to the dealership "not with my specific vehicle" and they won't even look at it with. Please include my specific vehicle in this recall that was made on 07/05/2016 stating "general motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year. . . As the electronic park lock lever may allow the ignition key to be removed without the transmission being in park. Also, certain. . . 2011-2013 GMC Terrain vehicles may have been serviced with similar defective replacement electronic park lock levers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 114 "theft protection and rollaway prevention. " please amend this recall to include my vehicle.
I've had my Terrain for 3 months. Car had 3400 miles at the time of the issue. Backed out of my driveway, put the car in drive and it wouldn't go. The car would rev up but wouldn't move forward. Had to put the car in neutral and push out of the middle of the street. Car was stranded in the street for three days due to the dealership service department being closed. Each day I tried to put the car in drive and it still wouldn't go when put in drive or manual only reverse. Car was towed to the dealership and sat for another day before the dealership could get to it. Dealership called and the car would drive with no issue. Asked if something could have shifted when the car was towed so they kept the car one more day to run some diagnostic tests which still resulted in nothing being found.

Liftgate not working. Access to the back compartment is compromised as the liftgate does not work either using the wireless keys or pressing on the button to manually open the liftgate. The door continuously latches and makes it nearly impossible to open. I have to trick the timing and attempt to pull (using great force) before the liftgate will latch again. Lots of force has to be used as compressed air makes it very difficult to lift and close the back liftgate. Although gm has had nearly 900,000 vehicles recalls with the same problem, I was told my vehicle does not fall in this recall. Please consider my 2011 GMC Terrain as part of this recall, so I can get it repaired. Thank you!.

The hatch back door that lefts up by a touch of a button came crashing down on my head while putting in the groceries. The next time it came down on my fingers. Also came down on my daughters back. All the time without warning. It lefts up just fine but it comes crashing down at any time. I took it to GMC dealership and they reported that the oil was liking from the left side Terrain lift gate tailgate hatch-actuator 23432304. Part number 23432304 for 2013 GMC Terrain. This could seriously hurt someone. I have turn mine to off and have to lift it manually. No fun. It¿s heavy.

We have a 2010 GMC Terrain and the hatch door opens on its own. It occurs while parked and while driving, happening several times a week and often several times a day. We have closed and locked the door/car with the button in the car, with the key and manually and it still occurs. The hatch latch has been replaced but the problem continues. Not only could something fall out of the back and cause an accident, it leaves us open to theft as well as being a nuisance and a worry.
