Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of GMC Terrain

Two incident warnings on my dashboard saying of my back hatch was open when it was not. Had it serviced because the dash warning would not shut off. Service said it was fixed then happened again. Twice this happened intermittently. Another incident when on navigation screen, when the navigator gave directions it changed to phone screen and went back to navigation screen when she stopped talking, like she was calling me to verbally give me directions! the most worrisome was as I was going 50 mph on city street, my gas peddle stopped engaging with the engine and I was loosing speed, as I pressed on the gas peddle harder the car was decreasing in speed as I watched the speedometer. During that incident all was working including brakes, radio and steering. I proceeded to drift into a driveway to stop the car for help, good thing I was not on the freeway could have gotten killed. The car is getting serviced now, I do not want it back, will trade in for different make/model is this considered a lemon and which laws/action do I take? I've only had the car only 7 months when this started to happen.

Radio plays random radio stations and will not allow radio to be turned off when vehicle is turned off ( no power to the vehicle, doors are opened and the fob is over 500 ft away). Radio screen flashes to a blank screen. Does not read contact information for cellphone connected to vehicle. Will not allow phone calls to be made and will continue to play music through radio and car speakers while phone is engaged in a telephone call ( once call is able to be placed). Android auto feature stopped working. Vehicle will slip out of gear and randomly put self into an overdrive. Vehicle will not accelerate despite gas petal being almost to the floor and then will jump rapidly and accelerate quickly. Vehicle smells like rubber is burning under the hood at various times.

The new auto stop that shuts off the motor when you're at a red light doesn't work properly. Sometimes it shuts off, but most of the time it doesn't been to the dealer two times and the radio will not come on at times even though gm has performed updates on these problems. The problems still exist.

GMC Terrain. Consumer writes in regards to issues with the radio. The consumer stated the dash display no longer operates. The screen display is black. Due to the failure the backup camera, hands free phone, on star, and the radio are inoperable.

The whole infotainment system, including backup camera and navigation, is not functioning correctly. According to reports from the GMC dealership and from online blogs, this is a well known systemic problem that gm is not addressing. Safety issues: 1. The backup camera does not work correctly. When I put car in reverse the screen stays black without any view of the area behind the vehicle. . This is dangerous in any vehicle, but especially in the GMC Terrain that is full of blind spots. 2. The radio comes on spontaneously despite being turned �off�. The volume does not respond to the volume control knob. The radio does not turn off after pressing the on/off control. Trying to deal with this radio while driving is extremely distracting and dangerous. The problem started on 10/01/18 and has not resolved on its own. My GMC dealer has seen a lot of similar problems in this vehicle model.

Our Terrain started knocking right before it's due for an oil change. We checked it and it had no oil. The dealership has brushed it away and stated that it's not leaking but could be burning the oil. It wasn't until we talked to a mechanic that we were told that certain GMC vehicles burning oil and that it is recommended we spend more money on more oil replacing 1 quart every 1000 miles. We also found that our radio stopped working but because the dealership failed to inform us that the warranty we got didn't cover the radio. They told us we could get it repaired but we would have to pay out of pocket. This will be the last time we buy a GMC or a chevy SUV due to the issues with getting the repairs done and the fact that we want a reliable vehicle.

1. Lane departure warning only works with hands off the steering wheel. Gm refuses to fix it as they said they designed the vehicle this way. Who in their right mind drives with hands off the steering wheel, we bought this feature for our young drivers to have them reminded if they drift out of their lane. 2. Warning window about distracted driving displays on the radio screen while driving, so you have to take your eyes off the road to push ok to get rid of it. Gm refuses to do anything about that either. 3. Seatbelts are non adjustable heightwise and lengthwise. They are ok for tall people, for me being 5�4 they are uncomfortable and rub my neck. So I have to drive without them. Gm in 2018 designed all their GMC and Buick vehicles this way, to save money, I am sure. These type of unadjustsble seatbelts were used back im the 80�s.

Key is locking in the ignition. When turning on the car the screen does not display, stays blank. Cannot turn the radio on or off or up. It's happening more and more. It continues while driving. The gear shifter sticks in park and is extremely hard at times to get it in reverse or drive.

Front passenger seat belt chime comes on when there is nothing on the front seat or almost nothing on the seat. This has happened at least 1/2 dozen times or more. I can be driving and all of sudden comes on. It can scare one esp 1st time. You don't know what is happening. I thought I blew a tire or door came open. My attention was everywhere but on 65 mph traffic on freeway. Breaks one's driving concentration. Independent of temperature. Other problem I have is lots of wind comes in on passenger door. It is not aligned properly. Gm has tried a couple of times with no success. Very annoying and hard to hear radio etc. . 3rd problem is navigation,communication center,it keeps disappearing. It is giving me directions somewhere and then just disappears and resets. It has been replaced once. It has gotten me stranded more than once. I am a senior who relies on system. When it disappears, I am not always somewhere that I can stop to completely reset and reenter all the information again. I feel that this is a safety issue. I was on hwy every time and most of the time not in a remote area but not in area that I could stop. In CA. There are many areas you do not want to get off the frwy at. All instances above happened in the city areas while driving. Service was done oct 2015. None of issues resolved despite attempt. All are ongoing.

Dashboard lighting fading on and off at radio portion, including time, temp, and station. At same time, noise coming from right front side of vehicle.

I was pulling into a parking spot on Monday night and just brushed the curb with the front passenger tire. After I came to a stop, the side airbags deployed. The service stabilitrak light comes on and off as well as all other dash lights flickering as the radio turned off and the power steering goes out.

The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. While driving various speeds, there was an abnormal noise coming from the steering wheel air bag, the front passenger side air bag, and the front passenger side curtain air bag. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the cause of the failure was undetermined; however, the technician advised that the radio needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.
