general problems of the 1997 GMC Yukon

Seven problems related to suspension have been reported for the 1997 GMC Yukon. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2003

Steering wheel and car shake violently between 20 mph- 55 mph. Problem started at 100,000 miles. Has been looked at by two different mechanics and repair businesses and one tire business with no resolution.

2 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2000

Intermittently vehicle would wander while driving 30-65 mph. Dealer and manufacturer were notified at this time. Feel free to provide any further information.

3 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/15/1998

While driving vehicle would wander at 55 & more mph. Vehicle was inspected,repaired on eight occasions and condition still occurs. Mfr. Notified.

4 Suspension problem

Vehicle jerks in either direction while driving at various speeds, causing the driving to lose control of vehicle. Driver has to use excessive force to pull the steering wheel to get the vehicle to straighten out.

5 Suspension problem

Vehicle experiencing suspension failure, causing vehicle to shake / vibrate uncontrolably.

6 Suspension problem

When turning to the right there is resistance and all of a sudden the vehicle veers to the right on its own. Dealer can't duplicate the problem.

7 Suspension problem

Vehicle has a bad handling problem. Vehicle begins wandering all over the road once reaching 50mph, and is hard to manage at these speeds. Dealer has been contacted.
