general problems of the 1998 GMC Yukon

Two problems related to structure have been reported for the 1998 GMC Yukon. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Structure problem

Failure Date: 09/25/2003

A bad odor was coming into the vehicle through the vents which caused the occupants to feel ill. The driver and passenger side floor mats were wet and covered by corrosion. The vehicle was towed to the dealership for analysis and the mechanic found green mold located underneath the floor mats. Water was leaking inside of the wheels well and drained inside of the vehicle. Please provide details.

2 Structure problem

Failure Date: 11/01/1998

Due to improperly designed roof and wheel well welds a water leak occurred,causing water to enter into the electrical system, resulting in no electrical power and stalling, and will not restart. Dealer fixed the welds, but problem is reoccurring. Dealer said there might more defective welds in the vehicle. Also problem when t a stop, vehicle will accelerate. Dealer cannot determine the problem. Please provide further information and VIN#.
