1 Air Brake Antilock Control Unit/module problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2004

Interior abs light illuminated, then a humming noise heard under the driver side compartment. GMC dealer diagnosed the problem as failure of the abs electronic module unit. They advised me that it would be $1200. 00 dollars($800. 00 parts and $400. 00 labor cost) to repair. This brake failure occurred at 74,000 miles. I'm presently operating the vehicle on just the main brake system, after having disconnected the abs system. I have been unable to find a cheaper after market replacement abs electronic module unit. I have read numerous complaint on your web site about this type of brake failure. Hopefully this will result in a recall campaign.

2 Air Brake Antilock Control Unit/module problem

Failure Date: 05/27/2004

Started my 2001 Yukon xl and went to work this morning, on the way to work the abs light went on. When I got to work and turn the vehicle off there was a buzzing sound from beneath the drivers side, that would not stop.

3 Air Brake Antilock Control Unit/module problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2003

The antilock brake module failed and I lost all antilock capability. When it fails, it makes the sound of a small fan motor. It quit when I parked and turned the Yukon off. This module cost me $800 to replace. Incredible for a vehicle with 45,000 miles.
