The contact owns a 2002 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, he crashed into the passenger's side of another vehicle and the air bags filed to deploy with the impact. In addition, the seat belt failed to secure as designed. The contact sustained a bruised rib and an injury to the left leg. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a salvage facility. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximately failure mileage was 142,000.
On 01/03/2012 I was involved in a frontal drivers side collision,which involved my SUV and another car traveling around 45-50 mph. The impact smashed in the driver door and hood along with other damages. Neither front air bags delayed which resulted in me hitting my face on the steering wheel and having extensive dental damage. I am not sure what contributions are needed to deploy airbags but I do believe mine should have deployed.
