2 Automatic Stability Control (asc) problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2006

2003 GMC Yukon awd w/ stabilitrak. 40,000 mi. : when accelerating from a stop, the "traction active" dash display will very often come on, the powertrain disengages and I have to let up on gas until transmission re-engages. This has been occurring since September, numerous times a day. I have almost been rear-ended, since the drivers behind me presuppose I will continue accelerating. A gm dealer, after exam & diagnostics, could find no problem, even after being advised about possible "wheel corrosion. " in the meantime of course, it continues. An entry in edmunds "car space" has referred me to "document id#1819672 202 GMC truck GMC k sierra 4wd; subject: product safety - front wheel speed sensor corrosion #05068b - (04/21/2006). This seems to be a dangerous, serious problem which should merit a recall.
