I was driving on delaware route # 1 doing the speed limit (65mph) in my 2004 GMC Yukonxl when I lost power to the vehicle. Fortunately I was able to pull off of the highway on the right shoulder even within fast moving traffic. After assessing the situation I realize that my motor was still running with the dash indicators showing the engine light and the reduced power signal light on. When traffic had cleared I attempted to go back on the highway but found I could only travel between 35-40 miles per hour. Knowing that there was a gm dealer ahead in 15-20 miles I continued on rt #1 since the speed limit ahead was reduced to 55mph. When I reached the gm dealer I. G. Burton in milford delaware I immediately went to their service department. I explained my situation and was told that I probably had a bad throttle body (carburetor) and that it would have to be replaced. They seemed to say that this has been a common problem. I went ahead and had the work done at that point for a cost of $568. 32.
