2004 Yukon xl with 91,880 miles. Replacement left front wheel bearing/hub failed catastrophically at 6,046 miles of service. The bearing separated completely leading to a towing event. Vehicle was on an interstate highway and traveling at 70 mph, in a straight line when this occurred. Service technician said the drive shaft on the 4wd vehicle was the only thing retaining the wheel. The prior bearing was replaced at 85,878 miles. The bearing was installed at at aftermarket service center. The hub face has the following numbers etched on it. 730-0093, 12fr18107. When I look this up it appears to be a bearing made by gnb.
I could be driving on the expressway and the right of come on and stability traction disabled come home and cut my power they are to 10 miles an hour while I'm driving.
Stability control disabled comes on with engine power reduced. This happened as I as driving in the highway. Speed drastically reduced form 65 to 10 mph. I could have been killed. Gm is aware of this problem and will not act until there's a fatality because of this issue. This is criminal. Nhtsa has received numerous complaints regarding this issue and has not acted.
Surge happens while driving, then engine light comes on, decreased engine power occurs, tracktion stability indictors comes on. Car looses power. I have to pull over off the road, put into park, cut ignittion off, wait a few minutes and then restart the car. This could happen several times while driving. The vehicle is in motion and this is a driving hazard and big safety issue, it has happened on city street and on a highway. It happens daily.
My 2004 Yukon has at least three major leaks in the brake lines caused by corrosion. Research found that this defect was identified shortly after the vehicles were sold new but refused to issue recalls. I was in a near accident when my brakes went completely to the floor suddenly. Also the stabilizer system fails without notice and the dash instrument cluster (gas gauge, temp gauge, voltage and oil pressure gauges works on and off.
The power in the dash is gone so you can't see the speed the temp gage or the oil pressure gage.
I get this (comfort ride control) when I turn the key off and back on it there again. When I start it up.
Was parked on a hill, when pulling away the brake pedal went to the floor but provided almost no breaking power. A few moments later, multiple beeps occurred with messages appearing on dash display (after the failure), about brake system needs checked or serviced, and stability system disabled. To catch the leaking fluid, I placed the pan under the driver's seat area. Lines looked totally rusted.
The contact owns a 2004 GMC Yukon xl 1500. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began to shake. The engine stalled and lost power. The stability system disabled and reduced engine power warning lights illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, turned off the engine, waited, and then restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer who was unable to duplicate and diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
My key was in the ignition and then the power went of and I drove into a terr it affected the drivers side of the truck. I have replaced the key once already and now it need to be replaced again, im not going to fix it im going to sell it get a Toyota.
Reduced engine power.
The contact owns a 2004 GMC Yukon denali xl. The contact stated that when the accelerator pedal was depressed during acceleration, the vehicle hesitated and the traction active warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the air filter failed and needed to be replaced, the bg fuel induction serviced needed to be done, the front brake pads and rotors failed and needed to be replaced, and the rear differential service needed to be done. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
Today when starting my 2004 Yukon, the information center displayed the messages: "stability control disabled", "engine power reduced". And the vehicle would not go over 20 mph on a level surface and barely 3 mph up a moderately steep hill. I had to pull over on route 80, drive on the shoulder and thankfully made it to a dealer. I've heard of so many GMC vehicles having this same issue. We need a solution before someone gets killed!.
The "stability control disabled" sensor comes on followed by "reduced engine power" and my vehicle won't go faster than 5mph. This has happened at least 6 times in the past several months only upon start up of the vehicle. Sometimes, if I wait a couple of minutes and restart my car, it'll start just fine but the check engine light comes on. I first brought it into hendrick Chevrolet on 10/15/12. They charged me almost $700 to replace "app sensor assembly". Then I brought it in again on 11/6/12 for the same issue. They replaced the "connector at the throttle body" and charged me $223. 09. The issue temporarily went away. I then brought it back on 12/20/12 with the same issue but this time the check engine won't turn off as a result of the reduced engine power-stability control disabled warning. They simply reset the warning and that was it. Til this day, I continue to have problem with this vehicle going into reduced engine power/stability control disabled. This has become a constant issue and thorn on my side and each time I bring it in for service, they always tell me it's something else. I have read many of the same issues other owners have had. Why haven't there been a recall on this???.
While driving on interstate traction control lite came on in dash then power to SUV was lost then electronic message read out stated "stability control disabled " then " reduced engine speed" message appeared. I was able to pull off interstate but nearly got rearended hit by semi. Engine would run only at idle speed. After shutting off vehicle and waiting minute or two then restarting it ran fine. This has happened numerous times since then. Speeds vary 70,55,40 mph it doesn't matter. After calling different GMC dealers about problem they act like this is something they never heard of. "bull**** !!!!. Its the same problem numerous GMC owners are facing on the internet. GMC customers have spent thousands of dollars with no problems solved. All they want to do is hook you up to electronic machine and overcharge you for the same thing autozone ,etc. Businesses will do for free. I don't have thousands of dollars for them to be parts replacers . GMC should know the exact part to fix this problem. Someone or family is going to get hurt badly if GMC doesn't fix this problem they know they have.
While in the middle of driving, the "stability control diasabed" sensor comes on folloed by "reduced engine power" and my vehicle just shuts off. I have been fortunate the 4-5 times it has happened as I have been able to pull off the road, wait a couple of minutes and restart my car. I have already replaced a hub that my mechanic said was causing a "traction control" problem from earlier. I am reading online all of the nightmares and I unfortunately do not have thousands of dollars to keep trying to fix an issue that GMC is clearly aware of. I have 5 kids and frequently drive them around and someone is going to get hurt and I think GMC should take some responsibility.
This is second gm vehicle that I have had this problem it goes into reduced engine power often. Spent over 3,000. 00 trying to fix first vehicle and never did. Dealers don't know how to fix. This is dangerous, was passing a truck today on 2 lane road and veh went in to reduced power. Will not buy another gm product. . . .
02/09/2012-received warning in message center advising to check ride control. Located broken right front height sensor actuator for broken control arm linkage. Sensor replaced (mileage 63,031). On 09/27/2015, the left sensor broke, also requiring replacement (mileage 82,700).
Excessive rust build up on brake lines, rotors and calipers. Rotors & pads previously replaced in sept. , 2008. Needed replacement again in oct. , 2012 after only driving 16,000 miles. Brake lines are severely corroded and are in need of replacement. Control arm linkage attached to height sensor actuator also broke at about the same time.
Truck had a fault code flash on dash truck did not increase speed as pulling out onto a highway. Truck was hit on side of door. This has happened after a rear air ride code flashes. This is the 5th time in two weeks.
The abs traction control on my 2004 Yukon denali activates on dry roads and nearly caused a serious accident. While pulling out onto the road, the traction control kicked in and cut power to the truck. I couldn't accelerate and was almost hit by oncoming traffic.
Flashing abs light and then alternating flashing tc (traction control) light. Then the vehicle locks up the left side front brake and pulls the vehicle into on coming traffic. Happens intermittently. Cause by the wheel speed sensor failing on the vehicle. Replacement of part removes issue.
GMC Yukon xl denali -traction stability problem registers on dash and car bogs down and will not accelerate if you let up on the accelerator it will seem to improve - took car to mechanic and had wheel sensor replaced did not improve till rust build up was removed from on the splined hub it has since returned - went on line and other people have expressed similar problems but did not find any answers of dealers being able to correct - could be a potential problem which could cause rear end collisions if someone is following to close in the rear since the vehicle nearly comes to a stop.
Days after purchasing the vehicle, the check engine light came on, the vehicle powered down taking the speed from 35mph or above to 5-10 miles mph with out warning. This continuously happened as years passed and gm certified repair shop never found whats wrong. Until about two years ago, I googled issue and found its relatef to accelerator pedal and wiring from pedal that leads to engine throttle control, I changed throttle control plug to new and replaced accelerator pedal with used part and worked fine for two years but has now started failing again. I am afraid of this issue because I could be on freeway goung 65 mph and if these fail as they have and are, I then slow down to 5-10 mph in a matter of seconds and could cause a serious accident. Please help, there should be a recall for this.
First the airbag warning light came on. This has been an ongoing issue since 2008. My speedometer registered the wrong speed. My settings for the seat and mirrors quit working over time. Hot air would come out of my vents when the air conditioner was on randomly. Radio, navigation, heat, air conditioner and mirrors would turn on/off randomly without touching controls. The last 3 years went through 3 batteries in 3 years. Tests showed at least 5 things are actively draining battery in the fuse box. Issues happened mostly when car was on but mirrors would randomly move when car was not on, very creepy.
2004 GMC Yukon xl denali system stabilization disabled warning light intermittently comes on. The dealer cannot repair this issue because there are no diagnostic codes in the car computer. I have taken the truck to the dealership with the warning light on, but still no error codes. Onstar runs diagnostics and reports no errors and tells me to drive to the nearest dealership because the vehicle is unsafe. This first occurred in December while the truck was still under warranty, now several trips to the service shop and it still is coming on. I am working with GMC customer support to try to resolve the issue, but to date they are saying they can't fix it because there are no diagnostic codes. I have asked them if the truck is safe to drive with warning light on, but they cannot assure me that it is. They refuse to document anything in writing about the safety of the truck. To date there have been no accidents nor injuries, but I have lost all confidence in the vehicle as I was told the stabilization system was mandated by the government and it must be operational. What recourse do I have to insure the truck is safe? why can't they replace computer modules until there is a resolution? the truck did not do this for the first 35 months I owned it, driving the same exact roads that the warning flashes on now.
Instrument panel sometimes works and sometimes it does not.
