Electronic Stability Control problem #1

When driving my truck the traction control comes on frequently when in motion. Sometimes it even completely doesn't move for a few seconds even when given gas then lurks forward, which frightens me because it has happened in the middle of an intersection which could possibly cause an accident. I've been reading up on this issue and it seems pretty common, this is alarming that a recall has not been put into effect! besides that my truck runs beautiful, what can I do? this is an ongoing thing.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

(3-17-2015) I was driving my 2005 GMC denali xl, (with under 35000 miles) the brake light comes on, when I go to pull over, I realize my brake pedal bottoms out, I get it to a GMC dealer, they tell me my brake lines are faulty do to bad undercarriage corrosion and rust, and inform me that it may take thousands of dollars just to correct the brake lines, and that other parts or systems may also fail. . . . They also say it's not worth repairing. The vehicle was in maryland up until may 2014, when I relocated to florida, the vehicle was not driven much on a daily bases. . . Mostly on long trips out of town.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

My 2005 Yukon xl will, at random, shift itself into 4 wheel lo. It happens while driving and at speeds of 30+ mph. All of the lights on the push-button 4wd control module will light up or flash. No amount of button-pushing will disengage 4 wheel drive. I the car will slam to a 5 mph crawl when it does this. Also the traction control system deactivates at the same time. Has happened over 40 times now.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

The vehicle’s hydraulic brake lines have rapidly corroded, to the point that they may give out any day. The vehicle has been well-maintained (all service performed by a gm dealer) and has received regular undercarriage washing. In addition, the electronic brake control module (ebcm) has just failed; if a brake fluid leak occurs, there will be no warning or indication presented by the vehicle and the vehicle may not be able to stop. Gm has stated that any repairs for these serious safety hazard conditions would need to be paid out of pocket, with an approximate cost of $2500. A vehicle that is less than 10 years old should not such exhibit corrosion to the point of a safety hazard.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

Was driving home from work and the truck lost power and did a sharp left with the steering and braking was low.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

Rear left side passenger seat belt release button very hard to unlock can cause a passenger in an emergency to be trapped. Dealer states gm has no safety warranty on any seat belt products. Tps sensor indicator has shown up intermittently on the cluster had take to dealer numerous times and they never seem to find any problems was reading online possible cluster issue dealer could not resolve since vehicle purchase. Power train manual transmission shift pattern indicator light completely out there is a recall id #41359 as of Feb 14 2005 for vehicles with this problem making it impossible to see what gear vehicle is in and could cause injury. Dealer is suppose to reprogram the instrument panel cluster free of charge. Taken to dealer was told they cant do anything about it just concern about safety and recall that needs to be looked at. Thank you.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

Traction activation engages for no reason usually when starting from a stopped position and vehicle reaches approximately 15 mph. The gas pedal locks up briefly and engine appears to want to die, within a few seconds the activation light goes back out and truck if fine. If I drive an hour this problem occurs 3 times. My mechanic advised no recalls for this problem from GMC. The car was checked twice within a week after the check engine light kept coming on, but when tested with the diagnostic testing equipment I was advised it's a censor problem, but the denali has 4 censors and the tests can't detect which censor is bad until it goes out completely. I will contact my local GMC dealer but, from checking several complaints from persons experiencing similar problems I am very concerned about being taken for a ride. Now I have to worry about being involved in an accident while I'm waiting for this censor to totally go out. GMC knows people are having this problem with traction censors and should do the honorable thing by recalling these vehicles before a serious accident occurs. The average citizen who purchases a vehicle in good faith shouldn't have to pay hundreds and or thousands of dollars while mechanics keep charging you for tests that aren't solving the problem. GMC should replace all the censors since their tests can't detect which one is bad.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

A friend of mine just showed me a letter he got in the mail that is a recall to fix the reduced engine power code that shows a throttle body needs repaired. . The letter says to bring his vehicle in if it is a gm or chevy model less than 10 years old and less than 150000 miles and they will fix it for free. I contacted gm to see if my GMC was on the list and they told me to take it to a dealer and have a diagnostic done. I have already had one done and the codes keep changing, and from what I have read the gm site and other forums gm does not know what the problem and will not recall it unless they have to, my brother is also a mechanic and had it looked over by our college mechanic shop. Still no relief, I am not willing to spend $5000 and it still not fixed. . So I guess since something like it is recalled and I get into an accident because it reduces power on the interstate doing 75mpg, ill can to take legal action? I can't drive it half the time because of the problem. In the summer it starts with reduced power because its 90 degrees outside.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

During acceleration and occasionally during braking, the wheel sensor(s) cause the traction control to become active, or cause the anti-lock brakes to engage. In all cases, activation is in error based on ambient conditions. I am able to override the traction active problems by disabling the traction assist, but the anti-lock brakes are not controlled by the same switch. I have searched the internet and found numerous examples of the same failure with this type of vehicle, but no recall exists yet for this particular year and model. To date, the failure has not caused a crash, but now that winter is here I have to make repairs because disengaging the traction assist is not practical in snowy conditions. My mechanic advised me that it requires changing the full front wheel bearing assembly because of corrosion buildup on the tone ring. He also told me that he did change a sensor on a similar vehicle but the sensor did not solve the problem. The wheel bearing will cost several hundred dollars to replace. With the apparently common nature of this problem, and a listed recall in canada for the same problem, I believe gm is ignoring a very serious safety problem. When you pull into traffic and the vehicle essentially stalls, you may get rear-ended, which almost happened to me a few weeks ago. However, my greater concern is not being able to stop. Another website said that tires could be the problem. All of my tires are the same size and wear, and air pressure matches. The problem is with the vehicle, not related to tire differences.

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

Randomly when I would drive my vehicle, the traction control would just turn on in my car whether I was driving fast or slow. I could be driving steady without stopping on the highway without any rhyme or reason. I specifically went to a gm dealership to fix the problem and they diagnosed and said it would be $529. 00. I went forward with fixing the car and the next morning my car was not fixed. Since the dealership has disengaged my traction control and abs and said to fix my car now would be $1500. I now am driving a very unsafe vehicle and out $500 and not sure what to do to fix my vehicle which is a huge safety matter? I am looking for assistance in getting my money back from the dealership and going to one that is reputable since gm said that the dealership is privately owned and they can not help me.

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

I will be driving my 2005 Yukon, and all of a sudden under dry conditions when I take off from a stop my car goes for a second, than everything stops, I will slap the gas pedal the engine is running but doesn't rev (sp) and the car doesn't move. . . I live on a main route , the speed limiit is 55mph in front of my house, I make sure I give myself plenty of distance to go and when I pull out in front of traffic thinking I have plenty of time and than this happens. . . I am playing russian roullette with my family. . . There is no warning that this is going to happen. . . A light comes on the dash saying taction active. . . . That is not a warning. . . . My car does not go! I wonder how many people are dead because this has happened to them and couldn't tell the story on why they pulled out in front of some truck and the car just wouldn't go. . . . Gm needs to confess up to this problem. . . I know 3 other people personally that there car does this also. . . Gm told them it was his front wheel sensors, that rust got between something in them up north where there is salt. . . He replaced them. . . And problem still occurs. . . So what is the problem? I have looked it up on the internet, and there is thousands of complaints. . . No one really has an answer to fix it. . . It is hit and miss. . . . . I am sure it is a recall but GMC would have to spend millions of dollars to fix it. . . . Why does the rich guy always get the break. . . . . I believe this should be a class action suit and it should definately be looked into. . . . We bail gm out, than they play death games with our loved ones. . . . . If they could 100% tell me what was wrong with it, I would have it fixed, but they won't fess up. . . . . Come on gm. . . . You know there is a problem. . . . . This happens always, I drive around with the the traction system dissabled. . . I have to do this each time the car is off and back on. I push the dissabled button and it seems not to happen. . . As long as I remember to do this, but it shouldn't be, it should be fixed whatever the problem is. Thank u.
