Unknown Or Other problem #1

Hello around the beggining of June of 2011 I was driving my 2005 GMC Yukon xl when suddenly I recieved an error message on my dash board stating "reduce engine power" automatically my speed went down. I pulled over to the side and did a diagnostic check with onstar, they informed me that the engine suddently was reducing speed and the best thing to do was take it in to get checked at. On Monday, June 6th I took it in to bob brown dealer in merle hay in des moines, IA, I spoke to bob lundy and informed him of the problem I was having, he informed me they had to do some diagnostic check again, I left my vehicle there and got a ride to work from them. In the pm I recieved a phone call from bob stating that all it was was just a sensor so they would have to replace it I informed him that was fine as long as everything would be fixed. They charged me $457. 02, about a week later the engine light came back on and reduce engine power kicked in again, I called bob lundy at the GMC dealer and he stated that the sensor might have gone bad again. I waited about 2 weeks and took it in again and this time they cannot figure out what is going on with my truck, I even left it there overnight and all they can tell me is that they cannot figure the problem out. I am out $452 dollars and the reduce engine power acts up almost everyday! I have to keep pulling over in the interstate, street, or anywhere I am at in order to turn my vehicle off for 5 minutes and start it over for that error message to go away and for me to be able to drive my vehicle appropiately, otherwise the engine power is not working and I can only drive it up to 20 mph. Sometimes even when I restart my vehicle the message is still there and I have to wait and loose more time. This is affecting my everday life, I have been late to meetings, work, to pick up my daughter. I want this fixed please! bob brown dealer stated they don't know what the problem is with my vehicle, I think they just don't know how to fix it!!!.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

Purchased new Yukon denali xl on 3/19/05. Initially my husband and I noticed the seat position memory was faulty. Problem was minor did not report it. Replaced the head lights every 2 months ~ drove us crazy but we did not complain. Less than 8 months paint on the console and accessory buttons peeled. Finally on 3/2/07 I was driving to work and got a transmission hot message. Furious and concerned I drove straight to the dealer for assistance. Later that day I find out that my less than two year old truck costing about $50,000 needed a new radiator and coolant system, replaced radiator hoses upper and lower, heater hoses, replaced coolant jug, replaced thermostat, replace bypass hose and truck needed an extensive engine block cooling flush, further indicating that the transmission and radiator fluid mixed - totaling $2,100. Truck was in the shop on 1/12/07 for regular scheduled maintenance, which included inspection of the radiator, coolant system and hoses. On 3/6/07, called to check on my truck to find out that there was slight damage to the transmission; however, the advisor stated " I would not get the transmission replaced right now, just begin a service for a new vehicle" just the words you want to hear after wasting your money on a luxury SUV. I contacted GMC customer care and they indicated there are no recalls on the issue. After doing an in depth online search I am now aware that many people have had the same problem. GMC as well as the dealer act as if it's not a big deal so owners have not pressed the issue. Many owners state that they are not interested in the run around so they get the car repaired and don't pursue the issue. This matter needs immediate attention and possible recalls. No automobile should have transmission / radiator/ coolant/ electrical (head light) /memory malfunction or cheap interior issues within 2 yrs. GMC needs to step up to the plate and except responsibility for their poorly manufactured Yukon denali.

From: james ward comments: I purchased a 2005 GMC Yukon xl denali in December of 2004. After just two days of ownership I noticed that the cargo cover would not lock properly in the covered position. I returned to the dealership and asked them to replace the cargo cover. They tried six covers but they all had the same problem of fit. The dealership also investigated several other new GMC vehicles on the lot and found the same problem. The dealership ordered one for me but it also had the same problem. I and the dealership have talked with GMC who say that that cannot do anything about it. Why am I contacting the NHTSA? ? ? it is because when you believe that the cargo cover is extended and locked in position it can and does flirt back on driving or even before driving. The rear seat in the vehicle is a good location to place children and infants. If the cargo cover is extended and it is touched by a child in the rear seat then there is a strong possibility that the cover will flirt open and could injure the child. Additionally if you extend the cargo cover and drive, then as the cargo coverbecomes unfastened due to the ill fitting nature of the cover it will flirt open making a distracting noise. If the driver is startled by this or turns to investigate the noise I believe that this presents a situation that could endanger the driver and or other people and property. I have discussed this issue with the GMC customer service and they agree that this could be a problem and suggested that I contact you. The dealership, fully cogniscent of this issue, continues to sell the vehicle with the problem cargo covers and refuses to tell potential customers of the problem. I hope that you take this issue seriously and help save at least a trapped finger and perhaps even a life!.
