1 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/24/2021

The contact owns a 2005 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at 80 mph in an interstate with her in the passenger seat and her two children in the rear seats, the steering wheel seized inadvertently and the brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle veered off to the left side of the road. The contact stated as her husband was trying to regain control of the vehicle, the tires hit the pavement and the vehicle rolled over 7 times in a ditch, within 180 yards and landed on its passenger side. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact and her husband noticed that the children were no longer in the vehicle and they immediately exited the vehicle through the front driver's side window to search for them. The contact stated that her 12 year old daughter who was sitting in the rear passenger side seat of the second row with a seat belt, was ejected through an unknown window and landed in a bush, 80 yards away from where the vehicle had landed. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 05v163000 (seat belts). The contact's 20 year old son who was sitting in the rear driver seat of the second row with no seat belt, was ejected through an unknown window and landed 50 yards away from where the vehicle had landed. The contact and her family were transported to the hospital with the assistance of emergency units. The contact's son sustained a concussion, swollen knee injury, laceration on the head with 18 staples in the back of his head, 3-4 stiches on his thump and lacerations all over his body. The contact's daughter, who had been airlifted from the first hospital to a second hospital, sustained fractured skull, epidural hematoma, 2 internal brain hemorrhages, an unknown fractured part of the body, 2 dislocated primary teeth , deep laceration on her left hand that required 10 stiches and could lead to permanent nerve damage, deep laceration on her torso that required 8-10 staples. The contact's husband sustained a dislocated.

2 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2019

Message on dash saying airbag is defective.

3 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/16/2016

The contact owns a 2005 GMC Yukon denali. While driving various speeds, the contact rear ended another vehicle. The air bag deployed, but failed to inflate. A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was driven from the scene and awaiting repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

4 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/18/2016

"service air bag" light comes on at random, and without reason. No trouble codes come up, therefore no way to tell if something is really wrong.

5 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2013

2005 GMC Yukon xl 1500. Consumer writes in regards to air bag malfunction during accident. The consumer stated he and his wife were involved in an accident on December 6, 2013. The vehicle went a prolonged skid on black ice, spun around several times, and struck a guardrail head-on. The support posts broke, and the vehicle went airborne, clearing over the top of the guardrail and traveled a distance of 40 feet through the air, landing about 30 feet below the level of the roadway in a muddy pasture, in trees on its wheels. The consumers wife was injured, due to being thrown from the shoulder belt by the anti-clockwise spin of the vehicle. Updated 04/08/14.

6 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2008

The airbag in my GMC Yukon 2005 got hit on the passenger side and the airbag didn't deployed. I am us citizen working in amman jordan.
